A Strategic Ask

It’s vital to put our money when our mouths are in support of those who are fighting for us on the front lines politically.

This coming Thursday, I am attending a fundraiser in D.C. for Mondaire Jones, who is one among 18 top challengers to flip GOP House seats in districts that Biden won in 2020. If we are smart with our money, we can take back the House from these clowns and elect Hakeem Jeffries as Speaker. Doesn’t that sound amazing?

Mondaire Jones is double win for diversity: He’s Black and a member of the LGBTQ community! He’s also an attorney who founded a nonprofit for mentoring youth. He is running to unseat Rep. Mike Lawler, a career political operative who helped elect Trump, enabled MAGA extremism under McCarthy, is supporting the baseless impeachment inquiry against Joe Biden, and voted to make it harder for military personnel to obtain an abortion. He also recently voted with McCarthy’s plan to cut the social safety net by 30 percent. I know, what a guy.

Those simply aren’t New York values, and the lower Hudson Valley deserves someone who will protect democracy, fight for reproductive and LGBTQ rights, reduce gun violence, address climate change, and ensure economic prosperity from the bottom up and middle out. Let your donation to Jones be a cry against extremism and but also a very smart one to help flip the House.
