An Audacious Goal

I’m off today for my birthday, celebrating with out-of-town friends and capping the day with a dinner party with close ones. I’m truly fortunate to have such wonderful folks in my life.

If there is one gift I would love to receive, it is this: that you support democracy. It is a precious gift, hard fought for centuries, and it is at dire risk.

I have joined the Biden-Harris 2024 Leadership Council, a program of the Human Rights Campaign. We are raising money for the Biden Victory Fund. And I set an audacious goal: that I would raise $50,000 to help defeat Trump and the MAGA Republicans and return Joe Biden to the White House!

This is your opportunity to join me, and the community here at the Status Kuo, to step up in defense of our country. We are under attack from within. And we haven’t faced as grave a threat to our Republic since the Civil War.

Your contribution today will be smart and targeted. It will help us mobilize millions of Equality Voters and get them to the polls in November. If we turn out our base, especially millions of anti-Trump Gen Z voters in the critical swing states where every vote counts, we will lift Biden/Harris to victory!

But how much should folks give?

Here’s what I advise: Ask yourself how much it is worth to you to keep our freedoms, our rights, and the precious rule of law in the United States. Then give an amount that is even a bit more than that. It should hurt a little so that it feels like a sacrifice, not a gift.
