Birds of a feather, flock together. So do abusers.

Trump: Protector of abusers, rapists and pedophiles. Chuck Edwards, Max Miller, Chuck, Andrew Tate, Brett Kavanaugh, Pete Hegseth... Click for details.

all under the guise of religion; it makes me sick

Lance Khrome's avatar

And the Chuckster even modeled his flyblown 'do after his Lord and Master, but to no avail...ah, the smell of burnt GOPer toast in the morning!

Charlene Pilon's avatar

I wanted to throw up reading Edwards quote "after much prayer and reflection" he decided to withdraw.

Celeste Myslewski's avatar

Don't you just love it?!!

Bless his heart....

The curse of the south!

is he catholic? priests who did worse were protected for a long time and he was praying for the same intervention they got.

signed; former altar boy who has personal experience with this.

GQP pervs always say that 🤢

Beth Sutton-Ramspeck's avatar

Thanks for focusing on NC-11. We're working hard to win this one!

Jay Kuo's avatar

Please 🙏 and thank you!

Good luck, Beth! I am making a donation to Jamie Ager from California. 💙

I’m sorry - I’m still in the middle of reading but stopped to highlight this hilariously tragic little gem:

“None of this behavior would be acceptable in any workplace, but this was Congress, so the pattern continued.”

I’m laughing, rolling my eyes and crying at the same time: this beautifully encapsulates what politics is anymore. Well done, Jay!!

Jerry Tinianow's avatar

Republicans have a lot less than 90 days to introduce a new candidate. Early voting in North Carolina starts on Oct. 15.

Jay Kuo's avatar

Great point

Jerry Tinianow's avatar

We all have to stop thinking in terms of "Election Day." In most places, it's "Election Month" now. Which has interesting implications for the concept of the "October Surprise." Too early, and the opposing candidate can recover. Too late, and a lot of people have already voted. Perhaps the topic of another article?

Judy Shaffer's avatar

Another good point!

Beth Sutton-Ramspeck's avatar

Yes, the deadline is actually Aug. 20, in time to get ballots printed for absentee voting.

Alikhat's avatar

I'm just surprised they forced him out. The usual GOP MO is to deny and protect when it comes to their serial harrassers and abusers. Makes me wonder why they didn't circle the wagons for Edwards, like they've done for all their many other creepos.

Bridget Collins's avatar

Probably because there's something worse that hasn't been disclosed yet.

Alikhat's avatar

That's what I'm thinking. And that "something" is probably linked to more powerful people.

Beth Sutton-Ramspeck's avatar

Because by dumping him they hope to get a candidate with a better shot at defeating Jamie Ager, who has been doing really well in the district. Area Dems are definitely hoping that their calculations are wrong.

Good question.

Love your Chuck E. Sleaze headline! It's absolutely perfect. I don't think that the sleaze has trickled down from the top. I think it's been there, but trump has given men permission to let their hair down, be their real selves. As I see it, the sleaze we're seeing in the house is no different from encouraging bigots to come out from under their rotten logs.

Perfect emoji, Jay!

Even my woodchuck that drives me crazy in my backyard looks better than that guy! Same kind of woodchuck jowls though.

Rosann's avatar

It looks like he uses the same hair “stylist” as the cheeto pedo in chief

Susan Stone's avatar

It's not hard to look better, and at least a woodchuck is cute (IMO). The caveat is that I've never had one in my yard, only voles that destroyed my hostas.

Cynthia Malmrose's avatar

wow I thought this was a photo of the orange one... with darker hair, mustache, and glasses. creepy

DW's avatar

I'm so tired of listening to these people talk about praying. Clearly it is not working.

One wonders if he ever prayed about stopping his egregious behavior, or if it was simply praying that he would not get caught.

👏👏👏. (Finally! Karma, you are seriously late arriving!)

As is true in any organization, the boss or manager sets the tone. Yes indeed!

Dr. Jim Salvucci's avatar

The Republicans of the NC 11th District sure know how to pick ‘em! Edwards’ predecessor in the NC 11th seat was Madison (Tree-puncher) Cawthorn, and Cawthorn succeeded Mark (Election-Fraud) Meadows. That’s Meadows followed by Cawthorn followed by Edwards, for those keeping score at home—a veritable tryptic of losers, miscreants, and sleazeballs.

Do better, NC 11th. Do better.

US Blues's avatar

We’re trying, but it’s hard when the state is gerrymandered to hell.

Dr. Jim Salvucci's avatar

All 11th District Dems are exempt from criticism!

elliemae.padme66's avatar

Think part of the problem in this District 11 is the inclusion of Madison County, which is Very heavily Red County, IMO.

US Blues's avatar

Asheville is a blue city surrounded by a sea of red in a large heavily gerrymandered district. It’s definitely not just Madison Co. It’s pretty much every county in the district.

elliemae.padme66's avatar

True, USBlue. I'm one toke over the County line. Know from yard signs around me that's Democrats here, also. Besides, political signs seen close by include Support for Ukraine and Immigrants.

Jan B (FL via MN)'s avatar

And now Cawthorn is in Cape Coral, FL, running for Congress in District 19! 😳 kinda tells me that the financial rewards and perks must be substantial.

T L Mills's avatar

🤯😠💀💀💀 that sleazebag...Of course Floriduh is the ideal place for that creepazoid, but I am sorry for the District in which he is running for Rep.

Dr. Jim Salvucci's avatar

I hear that the trees are extra-specially punchable there.

Pam Birkenfeld's avatar

And it would hardly take anything to do better, just elect or run even a normal human being.

Dr. Jim Salvucci's avatar

Agreed, but where in the MAGA-verse might they find such a unicorn?

Sherry Miles's avatar

Somebody please ask the Ethics Committee to explain to the Sens and Reps that “United States Congress” is not the same as “sexual congress.”

Denise Donaldson's avatar

As a reminder, Ohio Rethugs had until yesterday to force Max Miller out, but he's still running. Therefore, the Ohio GOP is stuck with him, and they own his abusive behavior. Good!

Wonder if Moreno will now go quiet about his ex son-in-law.

Shannon Boyd's avatar

And what about Neal Dunn (R-FL) who hasn't been seen since June? What is it with all these Republicans who get to disappear for months with "health issues"?

Wis's avatar

This isn’t my MO, to judge on appearances, but knowing now what he’s done, I gotta say that “Chuck” just *looks* like a smarmy SOB, doesn’t he?

LHS's avatar

I thought it was Colonel Sanders in a very old photo! 😃

Wis's avatar

Before his hair went white! Hilarious!! I love it! Now I can’t ‘unsee’ that!!😂
