Thank you so much for your informative post. I’m waiting for the real offenders to be perp-walked, arrested and convicted. No names mentioned but we know who they are. The tide will turn, hopefully in my lifetime.

The real offender will receive justice. My civil service colleagues and I have been gathering evidence of the regime's many crimes. The tide will turn when we throw all MAGAts in prison to save our democracy! https://democracydefender2025.substack.com/p/no-one-elected-elon

It can't happen fast enough. The orange blight, Hegseth, Musk, Bondi, Nome, etc are traitors and criminals. Isn't there enough evidence already??? Arrest them NOW. Give them the same due process as the undocumented, legal immigrants and the American children who have are being exiled from our country recieved.

We need to stop waiting and demand our elected reps act in our name. No more asking for money; DO it. Impeach, expose, propose solutions. Rally. That’s what they already are being paid for!

Yup. patel is another hegseth. Incompetent ignoramous. As for bondi, lets see if she ever wears the judges robes. The good news is that a judge can fight back, the bad news for bondi, a judge(s) can fight back.

I just hope to live long enough to see Nuremburg style trials against all who are carrying out this authoritarian agenda, with similar outcomes at the end of a rope. "Just following orders" is still not an excuse.

We need to keep the pressure on the Trump dictatorship. It is cracking like bad plaster of Paris. Their utter incompetence and arrogance will be their downfall. although I still fear Trump will resort to violence before this is all done.

I fear you are correct. Jan 6th was nothing compared to what he will resort to now, in order to retain his power. I believe there is nothing that he won’t do to stay in power. When someone is as sick as he is, with the power & dangerous alliances he has formed, it is a very scary scenario.

You continue to give me hope, Jay. All of the illegal wrangling should end in impeachment for the regime and disbarring of Bondi et al.

I did what Judge Dugan did in 2017 during the first round of the regime.

I was a state trial court judge (I retired in 2021, in great part so I could get my 1st Amendment right to speak out on important public issues back.) Our local sheriff was a MAGA who wholeheartedly supported youknowwho. He announced that he would be assisting ICE in arresting undocumented persons. I asked our chief judge to bar ICE activity in our courthouse, including any arrests by ICE or anyone assting them. He refused to do that. So I barred ICE or deputies who were there for the purpose of assisting ICE from my courtroom, and posted a sign with that order on my courtroom door. I was called out on social media and publicly threatened by the sheriff that he would stop providing any security in my courtroom or personal security for me or my staff, and he directed his deputies to stop doing so (many of whom quietly defied that direction, maybe because they liked me more than they liked him?). In our courthouse with 20+ judicial officers, only one other judge joined me in taking a stand against ICE activity in our courtrooms.

I would allow people to stay in the courtroom as long as they needed to, and to leave by a back corridor but a public elevator -- as Jay notes, nothing improper in controlling my courtroom and it was not an unusual action for the court to take to protect a witness or a party from media, the public, or for other safety reasons. My colleague and I discussed whether we could allow someone to leave by the private elevator, but decided that could be seen as an ethical violation (but certainly not illegal/criminal). Neither of us ever used the private elevator option. Judge Dugan didn't either.

Our MAGA sheriff had a private audience with his dear leader in the White House in 2018 shortly after I and my colleague posted our orders banning ICE activity in our courtrooms, and the news reported that he and Trump both complained about "those out of control women judges" in our little county in Colorado. I kept my ICE-prohibiting order in place until I retired in 2021.

Our MAGA sheriff is out of office, and our new (since 2020) Republican sheriff has said that his deputies are not assisting ICE.

Everywhere I look, it's women who are resisting these fascists, even in the streets the majority of protestors are women. If we succeed and these anti-American control freaks are sent back under their rocks, I hope men will acknowledge that they could have done more.

Absolutely! It’s women leading the resistance and showing the courage to stand up and do what we can to stop this nonsense.

I have filed an ABA complaint against Bondi. Anyone can do that. Her conduct is reprehensible. I hope being disbarred is the least that happens to her. She should get the John Mitchell Memorial Cell.

BRAVO for filing that! Is that something you could make available to others so we could join you in filing ABA complaints? I would like to see thousands for her and any attorney who complies with this regime's illegal actions.

I would add that it appears that the arrest warrant for the state judge was signed off by a US Magistrate. That federal judge was either duped or incompetent. Magistrates have a very important role in the administration of justice and should no longer have any confidence in papers handed to them by anyone from the so-called Department of Justice.

So much of what Trump and his minions do is straight out of "The Godfather." It's a crime family seeking power and wealth that intends to make its own laws; lie, intimidate, and threaten when needed; and lie some more. They hire people to do their dirty work. They are corrupt, bigoted, and gratuitously cruel. They even have lawyers to provide a veneer of legality to their crimes.

Do any of the ICE agents know anything about the US Constitution, the rule of law, or human rights? Do they think they won't be dumped or screwed if that serves Trump's purpose? Even Pam Bondi and Chief Justice Roberts, bless their hearts, are not immune from Trump's wrath

Some have suggested that many are former bounty hunters.

We used to worry about the effect gangsters in the popular culture were having on kids, but we should have been looking at the adults. Many Boomer men idolize the Godfather, and see it as a lesson in ethics. When gangster rap was popular it was called a pestilence, but when the same ethos is packaged as 1950s Mafiosi, and is loved by the people in power, we call it a top ten movie of all time.
