My summer travels continue, and I’ll be off in a house on the farthest end of Fire Island doing my annual gay pilgrimage there with friends. It’s a time we’re all being especially vigilant with both Covid and Monkeypox circulating in the community. This just gives me a great excuse to avoid crowded parties!
A special shout-out to my new friend and helper Kim Wallace, who has graciously offered to proofread my pieces before I send them out full of typical typos. Very appreciated!
There’s a big final hearing before the January 6 Committee tonight, so assuming I get good signal I’ll be watching. And I’m finally coming out of Facebook jail for having criticized a senate candidate in AZ who said that mass shootings would only stop once all Americans were armed. I had commented that I couldn’t tell if he was really funny or really stupid. Apparently, that amounts to bullying on Facebook these days and will land you a three day ban.
Have a great week, and unless big news hits that needs analysis (which actually seems rather likely), I’ll see you back here in a week.

FB is so frustrating. I got in trouble for saying “I’m not going to argue with a racist”, but when I have gotten violent threats made against me and reported them every single time the response is that they didn’t find the comment “to have violated their rules.” I know someone with a transgender child who gets several daily death threats directed at not only her, but also her child, and same thing. Nothing has ever been done about any of the threats. It’s total BS. Anyways, all that unfortunate stuff aside, I hope you enjoy your travels!! Thanks for always keeping us updated during these crazy times.
The Senate candidate likes swimming in the stupid soup.
