Hello, everyone! I’m leaving for an annual sailing jaunt with my friends, this time around Sardinia and Corsica in Italy. (We had to cancel and rebook this trip last year due to the pandemic.) My friend Lorenzo and his brother will be our captains, and I will be the designated cook below decks for a party of 10 good friends. (You haven’t truly cooked until you attempt to do so on a rocking boat fitted with a pivoting stove top!)
There is nothing more calming and restorative than multiple days at sea, assuming the weather cooperates. I’ll be stopping for two days first in Florence (which I’ve never visited) before heading to the sailboat. Because we’ll be at sea, I’ll be off-line for most of the rest of August, resuming this newsletter on August 31st. But if I get a chance in a port to post an update with some pictures, I will do so!
Until then, let’s all keep our eyes forward and our hopes up for passage of the twin bills that form the pillars of the Biden agenda.

Stay safe! Enjoy your time away from the chaotic news cycle. Please post a few pictures so that we may live vicariously through them.❤️
Love Firenze and the cliffs of Bonifacio!
