So the election on Tuesday was a good one! And you can’t blame Democrats for wanting to do a victory jig, especially given what the other side wants to do to abortion rights, democracy and free speech. Reproductive rights was a big winner, and with it came winning commentary.
And my favorite,
One of the biggest losers of the night was fleece-vested Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who announced shortly after the election that he would not be seeking higher office in 2024.
The headlines invited some appropriate responses.
The election wins came off a series of bad polls for Joe Biden and the Democrats, which, come to think of it, is the same thing that happened in 2022 before the midterms and the red wave that never washed ashore.
Someone went back and found this Ted Cruz clip from right before the Dobbs decision came down.
If you were on Twitter, I mean X, you might be convinced that the Democrats have no chance in hell of winning. Just like Biden had no chance of winning in 2020 while “running his campaign from his basement.” It’s been something of a self-own.
Meanwhile, over in Arizona…
Pledge break alert if you haven’t upgraded! (If you have, thank you, thank you!)
Despite the sweeping electoral gains, Democrats are still despondent over those bad polling numbers. It’s a mixture of dread and bewilderment over half our fellow Americans. Who on Earth wants to see Trump back in office?!
Folks are still talking about whether Biden should step aside in favor of someone else, and this seems to confuse some Democratic voters. Here’s a simple tip:
There’s a year until the election, so here’s a reminder of how long a year is in politics.
The civil fraud trial of Donald Trump and his spawn in New York state court proceeded apace. Trump even took the stand to testify, and this actually happened:
His daughter and crush Ivanka also testified. And folks had thoughts about her sudden memory issues.
And to the folks on the right:
Her testimony was low key, but she laid the foundation for how her father managed to get a $300 million loan from Deutsche Bank when no other lender would come near him. (Narrator: It was those fraudulent statements of wealth she helped him submit.)
Too much? Okay maybe.
His lawyer Alina Habba who has a certain look Trump seems to favor went on a rant outside the courthouse.
In other news, the SAG-AFTRA strike is finally over! This was the best comment on new acting gigs.
Apropos of nothing…
Sorry, Ms. Lindsey.
Speaking of Republicans trying to hide the truth, at the Trumpless GOP debate this week, there was this jab.
Speaking of Ron D,
It’s just painful. Here’s him walking across the stage during a commercial break. Watch the clip here.
Trump didn’t attend the debate, but he continued to campaign, including attending a rally with embattled Gov. Sarah Huckster Sanders. George Conway with the zinger.
Enough nasty imagery. Here’s a feed cleanse of animals, starting with Yoga Dog! Watch the clip here.
I gotta try this one Halloween.
And oh, the look from this chef! Watch the clip here.
Sound on for this next clip. Warning: it really does sound like gunfire! Watch and listen here.
This is giggle producing, in part because of the caption. Watch here.
Okay, this next one got me. Watch here.
Now for some human content. Well played, sir.
Bravo for the representation, and also for this question.
Women are on to the guys.
I have no explanation for this, but Rex Chapman wins for the caption. Watch here.
Well, it was row v. wade I suppose.
I end, per usual, with one of the worst dad jokes of the week.
They can’t handle the tooth!
Have a great weekend! And don’t forget to upgrade your account today if you haven’t yet. It’s on your list of to-do’s, right? : )

LMAO at the turkey leg in the shoe. It might be a fun way to freak out the neighbors if I didn't have a privacy fence. Oh, well. Yoga Dog was AWESOME.
I was also struck by Ted Cruz's statement about how Democrats were going to riot in the streets, not realizing that we understand we have more power at the ballot box (at least as long as they don't regain power). It accurately represents the Republican lack of critical thinking skills, since they can't seem to wrap their heads around the fact we're not fooled by their fascist rhetoric.
Another great start to the weekend. ❤️. Much gratitude. ✌️
