She’s a piece of something, all right. Her incredible arrogance to think she isn’t subject to the Oversight Committee and the law of our country is beyond contempt. She’s as corrupt as the nazi regime she defends.

Debbie's avatar

She had prepped canned accusations for every Democratic Senator.

I keep thinking about the time Clinton met Loretta Lynch briefly on the tarmac and it was a complete scandal with Republicans. Now the AG frequently socializes with Trump with dinners, games, and even the U.S. Open.

Dar's avatar

And let’s not forget the tan suit that made Republicans apoplectic

Stephen Hooper's avatar

And the dijon mustard affair.

Kathy's avatar

That is an excellent point! I totally forgot about it as I’m sure most have done.

Terry's avatar

Let's face it, this regime is composed only of criminals and rapists, from the top on down. We heard from a women who was raped by the felon child rapist at 13! I believe her not any of the criminals robbing our country blind and being nazis on our streets. Why aren't we in the streets every day protesting and having a national strike?

Janet Eubanks's avatar

We will be there October 18.

Kathy's avatar

Needs to be every day or at least every week now

Carol Taylor Boyd's avatar

My friend and I are registered for the NO KINGS RALLY at the Colorado State Capital in Denver on October 18th!

If the government shut down takes much longer a nationwide strike is inevitable too!

bLUEduRham's avatar

Still too many citizens are looking away or “don’t do politics.” Have no clue what it will take to get them to join us.

Terry's avatar

Yes, I know a few of those people are my friends sadly

Judith Swink (CA)'s avatar

The shut down is due to Democratic demands that the Continuing Resolution include extensions to ACA subsidies.

The shut down may not affect them directly but one thing that should get their attention is when they receive notices (some have) from their insurance companies regarding increased rates to begin when ACA subsidies expire on Dec. 31 - IF Republicans refuse to agree to the Democratic Senators' insistence that the subsidies must be extended or even made permanent.

Professor Smartass's avatar

She acts like she believes Trump's statement that after the 2024 election, "You'll never have to worry about voting again."

I hope I'm wrong, but they seem to think they have it sewn up permanently.

Jen Schaefer's avatar

Agreed. I’m hoping Eric Swalwell’s suggestion that the rats are starting to jump ship is accurate,

Kathy's avatar

Yes I hope so too!

Professor Smartass's avatar

Me too.

On the other hand, the party has been working to get to this point since at least yy

Charles T Quinnelly's avatar

That's my take as well, that they are moving ahead with such plans that nothing bad will come their way.

LHS's avatar

Was she sworn in before her testimony started? And is that why she simply did not answer some questions and answer others with non-answers? I'm not sure I believe she would be afraid of being found guilty of lying to Congress, but what happened to Michael Cohen might serve as Exhibit "A" when she thinks about that.

Pope Buck I's avatar

Yes, she was under oath. So any direct Yes or No answer could have led to conviction for perjury.

LHS's avatar

Thanks for the clarification!

DFG's avatar

That’s why she refused to deny the photos of Trump with Epstein and young girls existed. She attacked Whitehouse for asking the question instead of saying there were no such photos. She’s trying to avoid perjury.

Kathy's avatar

Not could have but can lead to it.

Kevin Barr's avatar

And given what she just authorized (or didn't block) in relation to Comey, it had to be on her mind!

bLUEduRham's avatar

Maybe she’s in the Epstein/tRump child rape files, too!?

justin SG's avatar

Corrected: PAM BONDI IS A PIECE OF SHIT

Valerie's avatar

She seethed venom. It was palpable. Could only stomach 45 min. All I kept thinking was the title of Colin Jost's book: A Very Punchable Face

Linden Skjeie's avatar

Well, you made it much farther than I could. Petulant teenage. Piece of something, that's for sure. Sullies the office of AG.

Robert Israel's avatar

Haha -a piece of something -

Let’s call it as it is -she is a real piece of SHIT

Everyone in his administration were picked for their loyalty, not brains

LHS's avatar

She was performing for an audience of one.

Ben Prickril's avatar

No gemütlichkeit for her!

Terry's avatar

She an evil motherfucker, but we can see how her protecting a child rapist is taking a tole on her - perhaps she'll die a horrible and painful death soon...one can hope.

Kathy's avatar

Vance, Miller, Patel, Hegseth have that too

Valerie's avatar

Don't forget Johnson, Noem, & Gabbard. :)

Fitful Musings's avatar

I am agog at your intestinal fortitude! I only made it 5-ish minutes.

I called my Republican senator after seeing clips of that hearing and asked him to do something to restore a modicum of decorum and civility to the Senate. As a taxpayer, I do not like seeing any elected official upbraided by an unelected cabinet official, who should be answering questions not trolling the questioner. I consider Congressional oversight to be an important role, and I generally think it is appropriate for cabinet members to answer questions about the work they are doing, given that it is paid for by the taxpayer.

Ralph Rosenberg's avatar

I suggest adding some historical context that would have dramatized how uniquely combative and disrespectful Bondi's testimony was compared to previous AG hearings. While Bondi championed transparency, she hid behind platitudes and personal attacks.

As a retired lawmaker and attorney, I conclude Bondi is only fueling institutional disrespect--which benefits the Trump administration, piles on increasing distrust of government and accelerates a loss of our character as a democracy. Most disappointing? Senate Democrats seem unprepared and let her off easy. They should have anticipated she'd mirror Kash Patel's confrontational playbook and crafted tougher, more strategic questions to expose her evasiveness. It's more than asking hard questions; it is following up, whether in the hearing or post-hearing media.

LHS's avatar

With her still sitting there, Adam Schiff read a long list of questions she refused to answer. So at least that's in the official record now.

Ralph Rosenberg's avatar

I agree with LHS. As Dirk pointed out, Schiff needed to request, insist or demand that Grassley (my Senator) have the witness answer the questions. If any of those questions are memorable, they should be repeated, such as being asked of future witnesses.

bLUEduRham's avatar

Grassley. Another waste of human life.

Ralph Rosenberg's avatar

10-15 years ago, it was a different Grassley. Different staff, too.

Dirk Faegre's avatar

Including demanding the Chair direct her to "answer the question" and shut her down when she ran off the rails.

Ralph Rosenberg's avatar

I viewed a portion of the hearing and news coverage. I did not come across any requests made of the Chair.

David Maserang's avatar

The request was made - i heard it.

Ralph Rosenberg's avatar

Thanks David now the need for a follow up with the most important questions.

Carol O's avatar

Maybe you could coach some of the DEMOCRATS to ask more carefully structured questions that require actual finesse from the Trumpette.

Ralph Rosenberg's avatar

Thanks Carol O. I do not claim to have been the best at cross examination in a courtroom or at legislative hearings, questioning our state agency years. My overall complaints (and I have shared before) are: 1) when there are dramatic moments with people like Biondi, elected officials fail to follow up quickly on platforms like Instagram and TikTok; and 2) our elected and candidates fail to repeat the issue. All Democrats can learn from how Trump repeats the same messages, eg. fake news, he is the greatest President, etc.,

Peter Aiello's avatar

Nazi Barbie’s lack of transparency and her audacity should have her in a jail cell once the Orange Toddler is out of office. Can’t happen soon enough

David Maserang's avatar

I get these things confused. I thought Nazi Barbie was the dog killer.

Peter Aiello's avatar

I understand your confusion. It’s Nazi Barbie for the AG and Secretary Puppy Killer for Homeland Security

LaurieOregon's avatar

What happens to their plastic surgeons and make-up artists? Do they get hardship pay?

Peter Aiello's avatar

The plastic surgeon is very busy because every women in Trumps orbit has Mar-a-lago face. Even people like Laura Loomer who are only adjacent to the orbit

LaurieOregon's avatar

It is really sad that they want that plastic surgery mask. At least your face, Peter, has character. You could go in the movies! :- )

Betsy L's avatar

No, Noem is ICE Barbie.

Peter Aiello's avatar

Just like there is Sports Barbie, Vet Barbie, Doctor Barbie, there can be Nazi Barbie and ICE Barbie

Terry's avatar

They both are...

J. Ryder's avatar

Where are the consequences? The accountability? And I don't remember where I heard this, but -- "It used to be that when a politician was caught lying, they'd apologize. Now they just double down."

It's like lying with a straight face, even under oath (especially under oath!), is just a joke these days. It's so frustrating to see it keep happening.

Thank you for reporting, as always.

Terry's avatar

What about little johnson...saying the retrumpians are working day and night to get health care for the poor - what a liar...hopefully he'll burn in hell for eternity protecting a child rapist.

traa151's avatar

House Repubs have worked 14 days since the 25th of July.

Terry's avatar

Stop paying the bastards!

Olynpuss's avatar

I was equally frustrated by the bare-faced lying of our then PM, Boris Pfeffel!

La's avatar

This depraved, corrupt, spiteful harridan should be charged with contempt of Congress for “obstructing the work of the United States Congress or one of its committees.” I’m sick to death of these unelected, unqualified, sordid, despicable traitors never facing accountability & consequences as they and their cult-leader clown poison our country.

Alec's avatar

Bondi continues to shock me with her sheer ineptitude. Every time I think she's drilled to the molten core of the planet, she finds a way to get into even deeper shite.

It's at the point where I legit think that most members of the Trump Administration should be arrested on sight.

Ben Prickril's avatar

And speaking of sheer ineptitude, there’s considerable overlap on that front between the testimony of Bondi and her lackey Patel. Stonewalling works for now it seems, but their day will come.

bLUEduRham's avatar

Do you still believe that? I want to, but…

Ben Prickril's avatar

I do believe that. The sole exception that would prevent prosecution of Bondi, Patel or other Trump miscreants is a preemptive pardon before he is the former President. Trump was willing to pardon all J6 criminals, so a blanket preemptive pardon of his entire Cabinet and high level officials like Bondi or Patel is certainly possible, ethics be damned.

Douglas Brown's avatar

Bondi has fully absorbed the lesson of the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, and that is that Trump supports and rewards people who follow his own Roy Cohn model of denial, outrage, attack, deflection, and distraction.

There were reports that Trump was planning to withdraw his nomination of Kavanaugh as he came under attack and was nevertheless trying to behave with dignity and gravitas. When Kavanaugh suddenly switched over to performing as an outraged and furious victim, abandoning any semblance of propriety or self-control, Trump changed his mind. He liked and approved of what he saw.

Michela A. C.'s avatar

Thanks Jay. We need more of this. We need more light to shine on the enablers. Drag each and every one of them in front of committee, every day if possible. Keep them scrambling to suck up to their base. Their lies, in their own words, from own mouths, will do them in with magat base.

Stephen Brady's avatar

If we survive the tRump regime, we will have to redesign and rebuild our government from scratch. All the ways to circumvent and evade the Constitution and our legal structures have been parsed and breached.

Terry's avatar

it will take 2 decades at least...

Stephen Brady's avatar

And the first decade will be the tRumpression.

Ivonne Delguercio's avatar

“Birds of the same feather always always flock together“

There is no truer truth!!!!

Stephen Brady's avatar

That was observed long ago: pares cum parabus facillime congregantur. Latin for ‘like gathers together most easily with like’.

Ivonne Delguercio's avatar

So why are we here again?

Terry's avatar

cause magats are idiots and voted for this shit to own the libs, while dems are useless milk toast who have no ovaries and can't get anyone to vote for them...

Stephen Brady's avatar

The Dems were just too timid. They refused to see the depth of depravity the right had sunk into. They also are extremely tribal.

Terry's avatar

Yeah, I like the way they are trying to prevent Mondazzi from being mayor of New York City. Despicable behavior

Stephen Brady's avatar

Because they were were willing to throw the Republic on the trash heap to get their corrupt grifting Gilead.

Judy Williams's avatar

When she said how much she liked that picture taken at Mar-a-Lago with Trump I wish someone had said oh you like that huh I think it makes you look fat!
