"...the feckless GOP remains out of session on orders of Mike Johnson. "

Amend that to say that "on orders from tRump", as Li'l Mikey is no more than a malleable tool in tRump/Vought's hands, let's be real here.

What’s different this time around? The “my way, or the highway” mentality. There is no willingness to negotiate on the part of the right.

I'm looking forward to reading it.

In my country, when parliament passes the budget, it includes all the flow-ons. They never need to come back for another vote on debt or anything. The American system seems so crazy

What’s different? Could it be that the “Epstein” project was designed to corrupt and paralyze our political decision makers/government, so that foreign malign actors could work their own international ambitions without US interfering with them? Here we are.

BURIED IN THE BILL:

A small addition to the budget bill

House GOPers are pushing, upending the traditional balance of power by forbidding courts from charging Trump and other government officials with contempt for defying court orders.

The bill also blocks court-ordered national injunctions to prevent potential illegal acts posing imminent harm.

With the SCOTUS ruling giving Trump immunity, this small part of the bill completes his quest to become America's first dictator.

Why aren’t these two additions to the bill being shouted from the roof tops? I read many substacks every day (can’t keep up) and have yet to come across this. Thank you for your comment.

Regardless of political party, the Senate filibuster should be “nuked.” It is an unconstitutional accident of history in the first place. Easy to understand on TGM: https://tinyurl.com/9hktknpx

I'm a happy supporter (paid) of The Status Kuo. What is the business of two substacks for?

The budget should be carefully planned out and established for an extended period, and administered by professionals, not political hacks. How to fix it? 10 year plans, expertise requirements for Cabinet and sub-Cabinet positions. Set the system up so that Congress can't respond to every blessed thing by throwing our money at it.
