Not exactly but I suspect among some FBI agents, there’s an unspoken bias against Democrats, which Noem articulates explicitly, basically calling the entire LA county and state criminal for electing a Democrat for governor. OR FBI and NG didn’t consider it in their job description to defend Padilla physically. OR FBI and NG aren’t trained like secret service to physically protect a US Senator? Something about the unconscious aspect of the decision to not defend Padilla is at play here.

It feels to me that they will try to shut down every means of protest, and an election is the biggest form of peaceful protest.
