Years after launching its investigation into the financial and tax practices of the Trump Organization in New York, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office apparently has managed to squeeze out a plea deal from that company’s mercurial CFO, Allen Weisselberg.
He also has Liz Cheney, who now, thanks to trump, has zero f*ucks to give, on his tail. I'm not overly hopeful, yet, but, I'm not as dismayed as I was. I'd like to see Liz, just burn the GOP to the ground. Yes, we need at least 2 parties, but, the current crop of Republicans, shouldn't be one of them. Stay tuned...
The problem with Liz Chaney is that she still voted with the republicans most of the time, so if she does a bid for the presidency, we're still in the same hot water as trump's time in office. nothing will get done, they'll still try to push authoritarianism, and we'll have our rights taken away. Until she was on this committee, she said she would fully back another presidency for trump.
Ah, but there is ne big difference. Cheney completely believes in upholding Oaths of Office, that the Constitution and democracy are sacred and must be protected, and that saying you support “law and order”means you actually support them even when they are going after your own party members. She would definitely be someone the disaffected Republican voters would be interested in though the MAGATS wouldn’t touch her.
Alexis, your objectivity is what this country needs to have now. Political disagreement among us is nothing unusual. But today most members of the Republican Party and their supporters are nihilistic and only going after political opponents with violence without regard to 'Law and Order'. Respecting our Constitution and rebuilding our country after surviving from Trump Administration will take teamwork and we collectively must work together, Democrats and Republicans and other Americans as well. This rebuilding work is going to take a long long time! Plus I like the progress we've made so far with Democrats taking the lead for sure.
But, if that's the way the Grim Reaper is going to collect his orange behind, please let it be in a correctional facility. I would like Karma to allow us to see #45 standing before a jury while the judge reads out "we the jury find tou guilty..."
I agree that Trump, like many mafia criminals, has gotten away with and insulated himself from exposure to numerous financial crimes. I hope the political system and the laws pertaining to that system produce some indictments and with luck some convictions. If not, our whole system is in serious trouble. Remember also that Jr., Eric, Ivanka, and Jared are all complicit in many of these potential crimes, both financial and political.
What are the chances that civil convictions will essentially bankrupt Trump, and make it him wholly unable to access lines of credit to keep his "businesses" afloat? Businesses run on cash, and I have a sneaking suspicion that Trump's properties have been bleeding cash for years. He has some huge loans coming due, and if he can't find financing, he'll be out of business forever.
Trump, personally wrote checks for children of employees so they could go to the best schools. they also lived rent free in any of Trump's apartments until they squealed on him. Then they were kicked out of the school and out of their homes. Trump knew all this was going on.
Just the fact that he's notorious for not leaving any kind of paper trail or using email or any kind of traceable communication tells you he's crooked as hell. What kind of CEO does that? Only one that knows what he's doing is wrong and is afraid of getting caught. "Not knowing" what goes on in his company and with his company's money makes him a horrible business man and he will tell you he's the best.
As a "normal" citizen if I take my taxes to the Sir Shady Accounting firm and they do my taxes and I sign them, I'm accountable. Just like anything you sign, a contract, taxes, whatever- just because you don't read it doesn't make you not accountable for what you just signed. So I sign my taxes as being "correct" and the IRS finds they are not I am accountable. So why isn't he? I mean I do get that being audited by the IRS and them saying my taxes are wrong and I owe them money isn't the same as a criminal case but how can he not be held accountable? His business, his signature, his problem. Honestly just the fact that he has this huge business and doesn't keep any kind of records or paper trail is proof he knows what he's doing is wrong.... and yes I know that's hard to prove.

Exactly. I would never vote for her and it bugs the crap out of me that people want to make her out to be a hero. Her voting record is abysmal.
Hehehehe <-devilish laugh while rubbing my hands together
Trying really hard to not get ahead of myself but damn this is getting good.
Is it wrong of me to daydream about 45 getting a hamberder caught in his esophagus and expiring? 🤔🙂

Agreed! 👍 After all he's put the American people through, it would only be right for us to get justice. 🙂

I would love to see him in an orange jump suit and his head shaved. There are no tailored suits or hair stylists in jail.
We would finally get to see what his natural skin color is LOL

I would just love to see that... out of business then in jail. I'm hoping karma is coming for him and coming HARD
