We just can’t give up. Georgia and Florida have governor elections getting geared up. Both current governors probably think they will sail into re-election and I hope they will get big surprises. Florida now has two good D candidates, either of which I think will be a good governor. Not sure about Georgia, my home state, yet. Local offices are on the ballot this year which I think will be interesting and possibly a clue for what to expect next year.
What seems to be missing from the national analysis is that some Republican-dominated states see no need to create mechanisms to 'massage' the vote inasmuch as the fix is already presumed to be in place.
If this doesn't scare the poo out of any Democracy-loving American, then nothing will. We took the checks and balances for granted, and quietly, those were being hacked to pieces while we were sleeping. This country is going to turn into Russia Pt II if we don't stand up to this and put a stop to these games by the GOP. Each of us is only one person. But together we can stop this.
