I've always thought that President Biden was working privately with Bebe, and could not state publicly what he thought of the unpopular Israeli leader's policies. That is just the nature of diplomacy and our President is a master practitioner.

Agreed. I always had faith and know that I can’t possibly know what’s going on behind the scenes.

It was always obvious to me that Biden did not have a good relationship with Netanyahu. Why would he? Netanyahu has much more in common with Trump. That is why they get along. However, it is time for two states, and that is something Netanyahu will never support, it does not fit with his criminal and right wing agenda for Israel. His supporters want to push Palestinians out, and he is taking advantage of the situation to further that agenda. So, he benefits from keeping the war going until this objective has been accomplished. Biden wants to get the hostages back and get a peace agreement. Not the same objective. However Biden risks raising the ire of AIPAC if he does not continue to support Israel in a clear and recognizable way. Wonder whether that bill is going to get signed that gives support to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan and humanitarian aid to Gaza and Ukraine and perhaps Israel. I was not clear on that.

Netanyahu would be thrilled if Trump won again, but that's a pretty risky gamble on his part. Maybe he's just hoping to, in the worst case scenario (for him), kill as many Palestinians as possible before the November elections, after which Biden can come at him with impunity from an electoral standpoint. Yahu really is that much of an animal, and AIPAC should be a better representative of its constituency by recognizing and broadcasting that *fact*.

I guess now that he’s not completely neglecting his duties as governor by moonlighting as a Presidential candidate, Ron DeFascist made time to clean up the sh*t legislation he wrote .

Damage done.

Let’s hope Florida votes this moron out for ever more.

"Over in the Senate, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina is already saying he is “conflicted” on the proposed law."

Someday, we will learn what the Predator in Chief threatened Graham with on that fateful day on the links a few years ago.

The walk-back by DeSantis in Florida is most welcome, but there are still major efforts to make LGBTQ+ people feel uncomfortable and second class in Florida.

Let’s see: Trump opposes TikTok, loses a half-billion dollars in lawsuits (which he doesn’t have because anyone in this comment thread has a higher net worth than him), meets with a billionaire investor in TikTok, and now no longer opposes TikTok.

Gosh I wonder what’s going on here.

Now let’s watch our highly paid political observers ignore it all. Because it would be speculation, and they don’t speculate. Unless it’s a Democrat, of course—then it’s all about the “clouds” and “shadows” and “sure to spark criticism.”

Jeff Yass now apparently owns a controlling interest in Donald Trump, maybe by outbidding Elon. It's likely Yass who's guaranteeing the bond Chubb wrote for E. Jean's awards. Any day now I expect single-DJT to start hating on public schools.

It’s not like he has to limit himself to selling out to one actual billionaire. Their priorities may not be exactly the same, but they don’t really conflict.

I wish Biden would have been tough with BB from the beginning. He knows who and what Netanyahu is.

I think if he had done so he would have lost the support of the Israeli people, who were very much hurting and angry from the horrific terrorist attack.

What people don’t know about what the President is doing concerning Palestinians is that his talks with the Israeli government are secret. It’s called diplomacy, and he’s very good at it. He has stated from the beginning that he is opposed to harming civilians. If people don’t hear everything he is doing to protect innocents, it’s because they don’t know on purpose.

The partial walk back of don’t say gay in Florida is an implicit acknowledgment that it is a losing issue they don’t want to defend in November. Hopefully this will make the Christian nationalists furious and further splinter their party.

Let's see if we can connect the dots: Trump is in desperate need of money to cover his two NY judgments. Billionaire TikTok investor Jeff Yass visits Trump at Mar-a-Lardo. Yass is a major donor to a republican PAC called the Club for Growth. Trump does a 180 on his previous position on TikTok.

What are the chances Yass funneled money to Trump using the Club for Growth as a cut-out? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the range is from Near Certainty to GodDamn Right He Did.

< allowing students to wear non-gender conforming clothing. > So girls may now wear trousers and boys of scottish or irish descent may wear their kilts, while boys from other nations may wear their traitional robes/dress like garments? Hoorah. Cos I remember when school girls in the UK were not allowed to wear trousers as such; I had to, back in the 1950's, wear a skirt over my trousers and thick wool stockings for school as wearing just the trousers would have broken social mores of the time. This was not weather related but due to a medical comdition which had me hospitalised for some months.

Jay - be sure to get to the end of the Cape and see all the wildlife but watch out for the baboons! Cape Town may be the most beautiful city landscape I have seen anywhere. And Robbins Island is well worth the visit (we were in SA when Mandela died so it was that much more special). The wineries in Stellenbosch were super, and (might not be your cup of tea) but going great white shark diving was exhilarating! Have a wonderful time, travel the Garden Route, and keep up your awesome work!
