Those of us Democrats that live in Texas are so very grateful for your help in getting James Talarico elected. We have been stuck in this ugly, disgusting maga world of cornyn, cruz, abbott, paxton, price, and on and on and on for over 30 years. They have taken away our rights and with your help, perhaps we will finally be able to breathe again. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.💙

I donated on his campaign page. Of course, James now emails me every day. LOL

How about throwing a few bucks over to Platner's campaign? I know you don't like him, but he's the guy running against Collins, and we HAVE TO get rid of her to help reclaim the Senate and Civilization.

I'm with you. I think he tells it exactly the way it really is. No wonder Bernie, AOC and Liz Warren are behind him.

He's already raised a record amount of money and will raise far more. Sure the Republican's have a huge amount of money in Texas, but there is such a strong point of diminishing returns, the marginal dollar impact is negligible. There are better investment in Texas like legislature races, that will also bring out voters who will them vote Democratic up ballot.

I came here to say this. Engagement in down ballot races helps up ballot candidates but the opposite is not true.

If you want to help Talarico (and who doesn't), donate to a Texas Leg candidate - engagement in down ballot races helps up ballot candidates, but the opposite is not true. Dems need to build their bench by supporting candidates at all levels.

Can you suggest a few?

I donated and am about to start writing postcards for James Talarico through Activate America. As an Ohioan, I will write postcards for Sherrod Brown once the opportunity becomes available.

You had a great deal to do with that, Jay. I know I am not alone in saying that I almost never contribute to an out-of-state candicate because my contribution dollars are so few I try to support my local and NC candidates as much as I can. But if you ask, I do my best to come up with something to help!

"Asian parenting"--love it!

Reminds me of the Yo-Yo Ma meme from The Onion Jay posted in the Saturday Skeets & Giggles. I burst out laughing at it. https://theonion.com/yo-yo-ma-finally-works-up-courage-to-tell-parents-he-quitting-cello/

There is a lot of focus and money going to Talarico, but another Texas race is so much more important (IMHO). Gina Hinojosa is running for Governor against Abbott and needs more of our help to win. She could actually increase turnout more than Talarico and help with down ballot races. It is CRITICAL to win as many state races as possible and we can't afford to let them take a back seat. I would love to see more awareness for some of the state house races and other Governor races, like Keisha Lance Bottoms (Georgia). Xavier Becerra (California) and Deb Haaland (New Mexico) are favored to win their races, but they also still need plenty of help.

Do you get these, Jay? I want to point you to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fpw6Yzgz1Sg — my latest song trying to meet the political moment, in this case by pointing out the echoes between different authoritarians through time (and to today). It's dedicated to some people you surely know personally. If you like it, please feel free to mention it in your writings. Its sister songs are also seen on my website; the song resides at www.lyricist.net/trains-will-run. Meantime, on to donate to Talarico.

“I’m always Asian parenting for an even better number.” LOL!!!

As a fellow Texan in the RGV I feel both are equally important. I’m supporting both, with passion! And Thank you, Jay, for raising awareness and funds, with Asian mom spirit!

From a Houstonian, thank you! I will be knocking on doors and voting for Mr. Talarico.

Other senate races that could use some money: Mary Peltola has a good chance in Alaska (especially with the entrance of another Dan Sullivan into the Republican race). Sherrod Brown is looking pretty strong in Ohio. Larry Sabato's take: https://centerforpolitics.org/crystalball/2026-senate/

I gave until it hurt but it only hurt for a little while and it's so worth it to turn Texas blue like their beautiful bluebonnets.

Left my contribution! Let's go, Talarico🗳️💙
