Brilliant! Thank you! I hope Cassidy Hutchinson is honored is a big way for her loyalty to the truth-and protected “bigly” for her testimony against “the family”.
Riveting! Your analysis of a complicated transcript for Ms. Hutchinson is extremely helpful. She deserves our gratitude for her backbone. The mafioso language -- and threats -- cannot be missed.
She is a patriot in the true sense, not in Trump's perverted hijacking of that word and our flag. I hope she succeeds in her next career.
She was a broke unemployed young person whose family tried and failed to raise funds to get her a lawyer. She initially accepted the shady lawyer for lack of any other lawyer options, and she felt out that process.
In other words, she tried on doing it that way. That dishonest Trumpian lawyer was literally right next to her, which is enormous and immediate pressure. She didn’t like it. She tried to figure out a different way, still not having funds for a lawyer. She found a different way to do it, the honest way, with personal connections, not official channels. It worked.
Imperfect. Illustrative. The Trumpian people were not subtle in their attempts in leaning on people.
Valid, to some degree. It's very hard to see clearly that the water temperature is rising quickly to boiling when you are swimming in it. She was one of the very few Trumper's willing to speak the truth. Many Trump administration men refused to cooperate. That speaks volumes in Cassidy's favor, in my opinion.
Cassidy Hutchinson gives me hope that there are more Republicans who care more about the truth than protecting trump. And that she is so young gives me hope for her generation to do better than mine.
This is getting good. Trying not to get my hopes up but the more we find out the more obvious something will stick. With Garland now not in charge of this case, the threats of "impeachment" from the crazy right team hold no weight.
I haven't read any of the docs that the Jan. 6th Committee published yesterday, but just reading what Jay has written above gives me the willies. I cannot imagine the pressure she was feeling. Kudos to her for getting rid of the wanna-be mobster attorney and speaking the truth. I still have a feeling that it may be a while before we see indictments, but without knowing where the DOJ is in THEIR investigation, I may be completely wrong.
“Wanna-be mobster”? Sounds pretty full-blown and neck-deep to me!
Did anyone else catch the “double meaning” to those repeated statements about we are going to “take care of you”? THAT gives me the creeps! I hope she has been assigned some protection. Seriously!
DG, Jack Smith has the assignments (plural) & the "Mar-a-Lago" will likey be the first Indictment prosecuted. No worries. Jay, spot on 18 USC section 1622 and 1512 analysis.
Hopefully she represents the future of the GOP, although why she would want to identify with the party that put her in that position is beyond me. Heard an interesting story the other night about how she reached out to Nixon witness Alex Butterfield who gave her moral and ethical support to do what she knew was right.
If it's in the GOP's future, it's not likely to be the near future. There is still WAY too much evil baggage preventing the kind of epiphany necessary to change even a significant portion of that party, let alone a critical mass.
Which wasn't a given. Her own Mother tried to get her to keep Passantino, because he was paid for by someone else. And her own Father (a MAGAt), wouldn't loan her any money to get her own lawyer.
All she had at that time was her friend Alyssa Farrah Griffin, who was the only one who did right by her. Alyssa helped her get her own lawyer, and helpd her open up to the committee.
This has breathed new life in my hopes for actual accountability for those in "the family" and possibly the godfather himself! My fingers are still crossed! 🤞
Thank you once again, Jay, for your insight and clarity! We appreciate you more than you'll ever know! 🥰
Interesting how when trumpworld is having a bad day, my day seems to brighten up a little. Thank you for this. Nice to see the screws turning in the right direction.
Prepping popcorn is tempting. But I’d hold off until we see something actually happening.
The Republicans have no sense of patriotism or interest in the rule of law and are doing everything they can to make it all just go away
The Democrats, alas, have a solid track record of backing down.
Unfortunately the Republican threats of “If you try to hold us accountable for our plots and violence were going to plot more violence.” have actually carried weight with Democrats.
So be hopeful, sure. But I’d leave the popcorn in the cupboard until at least actual indictments come down.
But similar “he’s experienced at this” was said of Mueller and, partly due to the Republican lawlessness and Democratic unwillingness to push back against it that I alluded to in my prior comment, his report didn’t lead to much.
Because the Mueller Report was intercepted & co-opted by Barr, who enabled *rump’s proclivities. So many people are complicit in allowing this malignant narcissistic, mad, orange man-child to get away - repeatedly - with blatant criminal activity, it just boggles the mind. Many thought him “manageable” and a “useful idiot.” They did not count on his stubborn and willful resistance to being redirected. Their huge miscalculation, and the nation’s tragedy.
Correct. Barr effectively "stovepiped " the M Report which is just 1 of the many reasons the J6 Select Committee had to make the criminal referrals & pinpoint even more co-conspirators & document "overt acts" over many months 2020-2022.
I don’t think it’s fair to say the democrats were unwilling. They didn’t have the numbers in congress aka the votes or the communication infrastructure to rebut formally and just saying so on cable television or in an article meant nothing with a Republican DOJ that was set on shielding Trump period.
At the beginning of Trump's administration, experts contended that everyone employed by the Trump administration would have trouble finding mainstream employment after his administration ended. This is a brutally honest account of Cassidy Hutchinson. She actually perjured herself, albeit on the advice of an attorney who "acted like a mob consigliere," until she reached a breaking point and revealed her restlessness to Alyssa Farrah Griffin over her perjury to the Committee. Anyone who was drawn or guided to the Trump administration, the experts contended during 2016, would have their ethics questioned.

If she was a true patriot she’d have spoken up while all these things were happening. This was a CHA move.

Agree 100%

Hehehehehe...Best. Present. Ever!
Merry Christmas to us one and all!

May I suggest that the nation institute a Cassidy Hutchinson Day, preferably the day trump or meadows are imprisoned?

WOW! Thank goodness she believes in telling the truth!

I'm looking forward to the movie, no doubt to be called "Badfellas."
Interesting how when trumpworld is having a bad day, my day seems to brighten up a little. Thank you for this. Nice to see the screws turning in the right direction.
It's called schadenfreude, and, Karen, I think we're all sharing that warm, fuzzy glow right now. Hence the frequent mention of popcorn. LOL
That must be it.
This analysis and exposition have prompted me to stock up on microwave popcorn in anticipation.

Remember that Jack Smith’s background is prosecuting organized crime cases. I can imagine no one better suited for this crime family’s day on court.
Yes. So reason to hope.

“Because the Mueller Report was intercepted & co-opted ...”
Yes. As I said.
So I’d hold off on any celebrations.

Yes, there’s always an excuse available.
Insightful summary. Thanks, Jay.
The attempted choking incident wasn’t in the “Beast” limo. It was in the SUV.

Excellent, concise, easily readable as usual!
