I have always said, trump's guilt is evidenced by his inaction. Too many arguments about what he did or did not do but there is no doubt that when shit hit the fan he did nothing. Then to hear that there were so many begging for him to put a stop to it is even more telling. They just need to nail him to the wall for this. He should NEVER have the opportunity to run again.
I am convinced of Trump's guilt. There has been plenty of evidence presented. What I am NOT convinced of is if he will ever face justice. Will he face any consequences before the 2022 elections? If not, there is a chance his minions take over and that is the end of our democracy. I would love to be convinced that my pessimism is unwarranted.
And let's not forger that up until a few weeks ago, Meadows was open (e.g., releasing documents, and of course, his revealing book, which was actually endorsed and praised by *trump) and cooperating with Congress - when suddenly he wasn't. So what happened? I suspect we will learn that this witness was tampered with. By whom? Guess whom!
Having it laid out in such a organized, concise way, it seems to me, Jane Doe, that this is a cut & dry case against tRump and his minions. Even with what we *do* know, let alone what we don't. That said, it boggles the mind that people still support the Republicans who were involved in this, who encouraged it, and then did what they could to downplay it, LET ALONE continuing to support tRump. How can this evidence be denied? It's text from Meadows' book, text communications between people who knew what was happening was NOT going to reflect well after the dust settled, and people who knowingly aided in the event, allowing it to become a full-on attack on our democracy. HOW do these supporters deny this evidence? I just don't get it...
JiveNJingle,,, you posed some outloud questions about how can people still follow these congresspeople or trump himself with so much glaring evidence. I have a saying that I learned and so created it when I was in my 20s, It's already patented so don't think about stealing it 😁, Kidding, "Never underestimate the power of denial", Because as soon as you do, denial can and will take hold, even within ourselves cause it knows no boundaries, besides denial, different people out there supporting all this each have their own agendas, some aren't mentally stable, some are bitter in their lives and need a strong distraction so they have someone/something to blame rather than themselves. Others are followers and eager to be accepted by stronger personalities. Some are just hateful, miserable, rascist, bigots. Some truly believe these conspiracies like Qanon and truly believe they are doing the "right thing". Many are not broadminded enough to see all that is able to be seen in order to make a proper educated decision. Some are just plain ignorant and uneducated. Some are desperate to feel like they are part of something bigger than them... And all those and more mixed in with each other in different amounts and ways.
I don't doubt that denial is their 'survival skill.' But, in a nutshell, it's unsustainable. Truth will come knocking sooner or later. Sooner, in this case, rather than later, if we're lucky. But there will always be those who'd rather their fantasies rule their lives. Won't they be shocked.
One last thing. This whole over the top extremist conspiracy ladened movement happening had many dogs spinning at the same time. This isnt a single purpose/focus movement just as picketing in front 9f your job cause everybody is being underpaid There are militias, prowhite rascists, bored people that need some excitement to latch onto so they can feel alive again, money and fame grubbers, control freaks bitter from high school and now want to show everyone how strong they really are, disenchanted and disenfranchised and are misguided and barking up the wrong cause. Lonely housewives and househusbands. I could go on and on. What they have all done is found one little similarity or more with all these other people and have just grouped all the anger and unhappiness and misery into one movement and most likely along Thier journey, have easily adopted other hate from the others in the group due to feeling like they are family and on the same fight It's a fricken mess

Innocent people don't repeatedly petition the courts to hide documents and prevent investigation.

With guarded optimism, I'm banking on Rep. Thompson and crew to come through.
