I thought the timing of Barr's resignation was a little odd. I wonder what he knew, and if he bailed to avoid being part of the plot.

Prosecution of state/party officials for federal election fraud would be an excellent step in the right direction.

The problem is and has been, we all know laws were broken. The lawbreakers knew they were breaking the law, yet, here we are, still waiting for consequences. Not for nothing, but, if a regular person or a Democrat had even thought about doing this, the outrage on the right would have been deafening and justified. However, since it wasn't a regular person or a Democrat who did this, no big deal. Democrats and the DOJ are doing a fine job of undermining confidence in any kind of rule of law and the Republicans are reaping the benefits. The clock is ticking and if the dominos don't start falling for the GOP, then our country isn't what we've been told it's been and the rule of law is just an illusion, only to be used against the people the GOP decides to use it against, while they just flaunt it.

I want to caution against both cynicism and unrealistically high expectations in a severely dysfunctional system. We know the system is not fully equipped to handle a situation where one major party flouts democratic norms and the rule of law. We need to be clear eyed about the danger that poses and the limitations we face in responding. Saving the Republic isn't going to come about by simply arresting the wrongdoers. That might actually backfire badly if a broad sector of the public is not supportive. We need to make the case for legal consequences and regain consensus or the entire American system could crumble.

I do want an ironclad case against these people and I realize that takes time. However, I am so discouraged right now that I can physically feel it. It's like being held under water. I really do hope this all works out and our democracy will be saved, but, with every day that goes by, it gets harder to hope.

There really aren't enough words to express how grateful I am to you for continuing to follow all of this. Your in depth knowledge and understanding of all of the moving parts is fascinating! This is not my strong suit but I feel like I can read through your posts and the info is palatable, thorough and very fairly reported. Thank you!!

I have terminated employees for forging signatures, creating and passing false documents, destroying public records, and other things like this. These people are identifiable because they were fools enough to even sign their names to false documents. WTF??! And how have they not already been arrested and charged? Sheesh!!

I hope those responsible get the book thrown at them. Also hoping that something can be done at the state level to prevent the previous guy from getting on the ballot. You would think all this evidence has to disqualify him.

Getting him out of the political arena and boycotting him from holding any office in the future is my minimum hope, along with anyone found to conspire along with him. If that means removing elected officials then so be it. With what we know right now he should never have the chance to run again, never. Then let him take his chances with all his other lawsuits- and hope jail time comes from one of those. Ultimately I would like all of them to serve jail time for this but sometimes I think that's a pipe dream.

Since the Archives has the original documents and the names of these seditions are on the documents, how have they not been charged? Is there anyone at DoJ?

A charge against political operatives working in concert with the White House is no small matter and requires a bullet proof case, or the partisans will cry politicization of the DoJ. We are in very fraught times.

But don't you get to the White House by first charging those at the bottom of the scheme?
