Attorney General Merrick Garland’s statement that “I can assure you that the January 6 prosecutors are watching all of the hearings” likely set off alarm bells in Trumpland.
Thank you Jay, that was a superior & straightforward analysis of the necessary "guilty mind" burden of proof requirement for each possible ciminal Count. Excellent proffer Counsel.
How are certain people banned from the White House? Who can do that? Without the President’s knowledge? Wouldn’t he “miss” their presence? Who would “sneak” them in? What does that say about the mental state of Trump that his “team” (either one) are taking things into their own hands? Dies this have a precedent?
Chief of Staff Mark Meadows could do all of the actions you’re questioning. If you’ll recall back when Gen. Kelly was t’s chief of staff, he tried to set up procedures for banning people from the Oval Office in the hopes that he could better control t. Meadows could & likely did ban people at t’s request (or just on his own): I imagine we will be finding out.
Wonderful analysis, as always! I love the Team Normal vs Team Crazy model. And willful blindness certainly seems to fit *trump to a *t. Sidney Powell's testimony that no reasonable person could believe the crap she was spewing is particularly damning, along with Barr's warnings (along with Rosen, Stepien, Hirschman, et al) to *trump. Now let's hope the prosecutors, grand juries, and judges all agree that all of Team Crazy and Mr. *t himself need to be locked up.
Given previous and known actions by Trump himself, i.e. tearing up and/or flushing or eating documents, taking documents from the WH, suggesting tear-gassing a peaceful protest et. al., couldn't even the greenest of prosecutors prove he has no regard for rules, let alone rule of law? Trump has demonstrated his blatant disinterest in following protocol repeatedly and often publicly. Prosecuting him would go a very long way toward healing this country.
I would label them as Team Crazy and Team Self Interest or Team Less Than Crazy.

This country better wake up if this psychopath isn’t prosecuted and stopped from being in crooked politics then we are on our way to Hitler America.
