That’s what my brain feels like, after being up for much of the night working on a bear of a piece for The Big Picture about Crossfire Hurricane and the Case of the Missing Russian Binder. I write once a week for my team’s substack and use the occasion to zoom out and bring broader questions into focus. I had a late night “Aha!” moment that turned into an “Oh, crap!” need to explain it all. Thus the bleary eyes.
Rather than subject you to what another piece would be like after a night like this, I’m going to go lie down, get some rest, and then finalize edits on that other article. I encourage you to sign up to receive it, if you haven’t already, by becoming a subscriber to The Big Picture. It’s free of charge, but if you take out a voluntary paid subscription I will indeed feel validated!

And thank you also to all of you who have re-upped on your paid subscriptions to The Status Kuo. Your support has been amazing, and I’m humbled by your faith in me and my work.

Love you! Seriously. In that agape way. Nap on; Paula Poundstone said the surest way to know you are a grownup is to want to sleep.
Take good care of yourself--we need you!
