This story has me sobbing. I am so disgusted by people like DeSantis and Abbott being cruel and inhumane for their own twisted pleasure. The cult, cheering them on, is no better. The one helpful thing trump did, was expose people, like this, by giving them permission to be who they truly are, and always have been. The rot in this country runs deep, but, as evidenced by the people of Martha's Vineyard, love runs deeper. That's what we must cling to, by the skin of our teeth, if necessary. Hate, cruelty, racism, homophobia, anti-women, inhumanity, etc., is on the ballot in November. Vote accordingly.

Moving a group of people of the same ethnicity from one location to another against their will has a technical name often used in The Hague - ethnic cleansing.
Both of these governors need to be unseated immediately spending tax dollars to transport immigrants like this is utterly ridiculous treating human beings as pawns in their racist game is unacceptable

I would make the personal representative of one of the bewildered children the lead plaintiff representative. All class damages, every penny, should go to a class fund to support the many victims supervised by court procedures.
The people of Martha's Vineyard did just what I would have expected them to do. (I've been visiting for 30+ years and have relatives there.) Gov. DeSantis' mindset is so narrow that he apparently couldn't even imagine that possibility.

What horrific cruelty! I have to believe that a variety of laws were violated to do this, and I hope the DOJ throws everything it has at this SOB. It's appalling that we have people who support the actions by Abbott and DeSantis.
“I love Massachusetts” should be the headline of every media story about this incident. The names of the governors involved should not be used, just their states. It’s a story about human trafficking, the triumph of compassion and the ending has not yet been written regarding the unfortunate victims of the political stunt and the criminal conspiracy concocted by the rethuglican governors of Texas and Florida and whomever else worked with them to execute this misbegotten travesty. Hopefully justice will prevail for all involved (but I fear it won’t with a bench loaded with Trump appointed bigots and fools). These are interesting times. What a curse. Sigh.

A presumably chartered plane, leaving Texas lands in Florida and then up the East Coast to the Carolinas and on to Martha's Vineyard. Was there an FAA flight plan filed? Anything in there of interest? Was the tower at Martha's Vineyard expecting this flight?
