Speaking of "both-sides-ism," what about the $2 BILLION "invested" by the Saudi Fund with Jared Kushner after he left the WH where he served Trump on a massive portfolio that included the Middle East?
I hadn’t followed the civilian’s laptop issue much either. Yesterday I did a quick read on Wikipedia and read about it. There’s nothing there. As for withdrawal from Afghanistan, I’m glad we are out. I’d imagine the folks who lost loved ones in the terroist attack really would like to not have to relive their lose. My hope is there are enough emotionally mature adults in the house to focus on real concerns and progressive advancement for our nation and the world.
perhaps they should rename their party the Smokescreen party! Come on lets get on with the real issues facing our country, women's rights, abortion, climate control, voting protection, equality, protection of same sex marriages, healthcare for all and the goes on! Voters let the GOP know what our priorities are! Hoping they will finally listen!
I’m rather curious as to why it seems NO ONE can figure out the border. Yes, I suppose it is difficult but doesn’t Washington have access to some great minds? Thanks for the overview of what we are going to be dealing with. I’m exhausted by them and will do all I can to keep them out of office.
Disappointing response, Jones, as I am concentrating on progress through moderation. The liberal fringes seek a socialistic society with debt mounting well beyond the current huge $31 Trillion. I will not discuss this further with an extreme partisan, which you clearly are
Rich, cool your jets. There are level- headed moderates in both parties, and your radical liberals are as obstreperous as my so- called MAGA conservatives. Both are diminishing groups.
This is absolute false equivalence. The so called “radical liberals” you’re lambasting are good folks who want to make positive change for everyone. This CANNOT be said for MAGA morons, period.
Thanks for the cogent analysis and the comments it generated. Hoping the GOP doesn’t become an unwitting ally of Russia and it’s imperial ambitions. Some moderate caucuses may well emerge in both parties. We should be in an economic upturn by 2024 unless radicals mess it up. Relative risks place a nuclear war, global warming and social inequality as priorities and the party that addresses those issue should triumph. The GOP seems improbable as producing a messiah but who knows.
Sure they do, but how many of them have the intelligence, skills, integrity, maturity, and will to do the actual work of governance? And those few that do will be shouted down or ignored by the grievance mob who will accuse them of being RINOs or collaborators. The disintegration of the Republican party began with *trump, reached its halfway mark in 2022, and will be completed in 2024.
OK I think you need a new job as advisor to the Democratic Party to show them the way
I agree!
Excellent article! It addresses all the holes in the GOP’s childish argument

GasLight party
Sounds like sound, consistent messaging is in order. Or is that too simplistic (naive) thinking on my part?

The House Republicans can do both governance and grievance. Goodness gracious, they have 210 or more folks needing things to do!
