Now that the shock of the news that Kamala Harris is their new opponent in November has begun to wear off, Trump and the GOP are sharpening their knives and preparing their attacks upon her. Given what happened in 2016, it’s important to understand what they are planning and how we can collectively help blunt the assaults.
Later today in The Big Picture, I will explore five angles of attack on Harris that I have already seen. I’ll also discuss what that campaign and Democratic voters can say in response.
Sign up to receive The Big Picture and my piece later today in your inbox. It’s always free, but we do value our paid supporters tremendously!
I also wanted to let you know, whether you’re a member of the LGBTQ+ community or an ally, that the Human Rights Campaign, together with celebrities including George Takei, Sophia Bush, Ashlyn Harris, Wilson Cruz, Brian Michael Smith, Raven-Symoné, Dana Goldberg and TV’s Wonder Woman Lynda Carter, will speak on a community zoom that I have helped organize. It’s tonight at 9PT ET / 6PM PT.
We are OUT FOR KAMALA HARRIS and here to show the massive support she has within the LGBTQ+ community!
You can sign up to be a part of this historic call at this link:
Thank you, and I hope to see some of my readers on the big zoom call tonight!

Is it just me or do the weird attacks from the right seem somehow more like self-parody than before? I don't know what it is. Kamala's presence at the top of the ticket, but I can't pinpoint exactly what it is about her that is creating such an obvious distinction. Maybe how she comes off? Very normal, very, US?
That's why I loved her recent social media post asking if Trump was okay. We all know the answer. We all know what she meant.
I have watched every one of her speeches since she became the presumptive presidential candidate including this mornings to teachers in Dallas. I love her vision, her energy, her laughter, her moral compass and of course I have her back. Because of her, I have started donating again.
