Folks were quite focused this week on Trump’s financial fortunes… and misfortunes. After we all collectively wrung our hands over him becoming, at least on paper, an overnight billionaire due to his majority stake in a meme stock that went public, Trump Media and Technology Group, Inc.—ticker symbol DJT, of course—it was very satisfying to then watch this happen through the week:
Right wing provocateur Tim Pool made his investing practices public, which was quite delectable.
A small recovery didn’t help and led to this:
Ouch! Yes, that’s billions on paper Trump and the suckers buying his near worthless company’s stock have lost. MAGA fools and their money are soon parted.
Joe Biden continued to improve in the polls, which doesn’t mean that he’s winning, or that he’s losing, but does signal a trend change and a shift in mood.
Trump made campaign stops in the swing states of Michigan and Wisconsin, but he seems to have elected to do them in smaller spaces.
There was legitimate concern over Trump sharing violent images of Joe Biden tied up and apparently shot in the head with a bullet.
We’re still shaking our heads over Trump hawking a USA themed bible for $60.
This post was a whole mood:
And after non-stop harassment and doxxing of Judge Merchan’s daughter by Trump from his Truth Social account, mini-Goebbels Steven Miller actually complained about this:
Because they have nothing better to do and are certified brown shir—excuse me, brown nosers, Republicans in Congress decided it was time to name an airport after Donald Trump.
This was a near perfect rejoinder:

Trump’s racist and fascist rhetoric about immigrants from brown people countries has emboldened the right, but the left is ready.
That bogus “Great Replacement Theory” got a smackdown.
Abortion rights made headlines again, much to the GOP’s dismay, after the Florida Supreme Court stripped away the right to abortion that most Floridians assumed they had voted into the state constitution back in the 1980s.
The Daily Show FTW in this clip.
There was an earthquake in New Jersey that shook much of the Northeast including New York City. (And I have finally found fault with the Big Apple.)
The temblor caused no injuries or damage, but was a goldmine for commentary.
For you musical theatre fans…
If you don’t get it, I encourage you to watch Little Shop of Horrors.
Rep. Marjorie Three Names (Q-GA) had the most cringeworthy take imaginable. I had to doublecheck that she actually posted this, and it’s true. She did.
I concur with this assessment:
This lady is a Twitter sniper.
Amazingly, Marjorie Three Brain Cells wasn’t the only MAGA genius to weigh in on the “meaning” of the quake. Here’s a clip of Rudy Giuliani, making it about (checks notes) “communist” states.
Folks had some thoughts about what the “signs” really are.
This made me giggle because of all the conspiracies on the left about it:
The NYT Pitchbot brought it back to our broken politics in pitch-perfect form.
And NYT hawkers are undefeated:
Over on the platform formerly known as Twitter, the owner seems to have reversed course again and has begun lighting up big accounts with blue verified checkmarks. For you SciFi fans, this was the winning take:
America’s d-bag, Charlie Kirk of right-wing Turning Point USA, decided to weigh in on his own area of expertise: women. Here’s the clip if you really want to hear him say it.
Quick as lightning fact-check:
Another zinger:
And besides, Kirk is supposed to represent the GOP’s outreach to younger voters, so it’s going well.
In news of other MAGA types saying really dumb and self-defeating things, there’s Roseanne Barr, with devastating commentary by Tom Arnold.
Speaking of being catty, this is Tiger Mom cat.
Not to be outdone, my money is on this doggo going forward.
Watch to the end of this shark video and try not to… well, you’ll see.
Find someone who looks at you like this dog looks at his toys:
One of my favorite internet celebrities makes a welcome reappearance here after an earlier health scare.
The National Park Service has a great “feed.”
Humans were particularly funny this week...
(Fun fact: “Lollygag” was a word in the NYT Spelling Bee puzzle this week too, so seeing it appear twice in a week seemed important somehow.)
Meta went down again, which sent heavy FB and IG users over the edge.
My houseguest has had insomnia so I’m sending him this cartoon.
Chat-GPT is going shady hard these days:
Some bad parenting tips here for Easter…
It was also April Fools this week, and I think this was the best (and also the most evil prank) I saw. Do not attempt with your own parent, as results may vary. Caution: “colorful” language…
I leave you, per usual, with a dad joke.
Have a great weekend!

Q. What do Mifepristone and Viagra have in common?
A. Both owe their availability due to lack of standing.
I figured the frog would have a much higher percentage of French heritage....
