I never trusted their polls. For one, I don't trust media that makes their own news about themselves, which creating a poll is, and they do a piss poor job of giving us information about the poll that would actually be interesting or relevant. What is your polling sample, how did you get your subjects? What are your questions, what were the responses to the questions. I do not have any interest in their summarization or interpretation. So, who care about them. I am more concerned about hearing people talking about why they are voting for Trump when we can see that they are not in a group that in any way, shape or form will benefit, unless they have a mental illness where they crave chaos. Manic or things like that. I have said that Trump is seeming manic to me. Not just dementia as most are saying, but really manic.
Dementia is hereditary. He is well into it. He’s obsessed with Arnold Palmer’s body, he tried out flipping fries at a McDonalds while his fluorescent orange make up poisoned the fries. He is so morbidly obese there is no way he would fit in to the uniform the underpaid McDonald’s workers must wear.
You might find it interesting that my German neighbors, who are golfers, told me about Trump’s ridiculous comments about Arnold Palmer hours before I heard about it in the US press
For sure HCR. And Judd Legum at Popular Information, Jessica Craven at Chop Wood, Carry Water, Aaron Ruger at Public Notice, Liza Donnelly, and both Roberts, Robert Reich and Robert Hubbell. Substack is my place for news and commentary.
OMG, I get to see Heather Cox Richardson on a Red, Wine, and Blue Zoom on Monday and then Jay on with Robert Hubbell on Tuesday!?!?! This is so exciting!!! :)
Just pay for a few Substack subscriptions. That is where I find the truth! Jay on his own Substack and The Big Picture, Robert, Simon Rosenberg on Hopium Chronicles, Joyce Vance on Civil Discourse, Adam Kinzinger, Dan Pfeiffer on The Message Box.
Don’t be surprised that ‘legacy media’ is not interested in true journalism! They ALL are major corporations, with Boards, CEOs, CFOs and investors! Whose team do you think they’d be on? C’mon! They have no loyalty to truth or to those that watch their programming, it’s dollars, only dollars. So, turn them all off. No more ads, stream the shows you want, to hell with ‘Legacy media’.
Exactly what I do. And when I can't find anything that I want to watch I get out a good old fashioned book on which I can turn the pages instead of scroll down.
Thank you for doing this! There are at least 8 million of us Americans living outside of the country. Will recording of this be made available for those of us who are in very different time zones? Thank you for the important work you do.
Don't fool yourself that the App is a solution for live events. I tried to attend one recently, lost the feed about 10 times for no apparent reason and gave up. Maybe it's my aging iPhone's fault, but I'm similar to many who don't replace things just because a new one came out this year. Better to let Substack work the kinks out of it's new App before treating it like it's the best new thing since sliced bread. Good luck with the experiment is all I have to say...
On that note, Nate Silver likes what he sees on tRump's chances with latest poll results...hmm.
He has run 128 scenarios (behind paywall) based upon the 7 swing states, but a free peek shows, e.g., tRump has 24.7% chance of sweeping all 7, while Harris is at 16.6%.
Isn't Nate Silver on the board of that new political betting thing...Poly something or other? And at which some unknown investors are throwing absurd amounts of crypto? Now, what if it's in ol' Nate financial interests to make sure that El Trumpo wins????
It's PolyMarkets, and you raise an interesting point, as these "betting markets", particularly those fueled by cryptocoin wagering, are easily manipulated by a handful of plutocratic punters, and who would benefit from a tRump win. So, win-win for Nate, win-win for the broligarchs.
Jay, I have twice tried to Share this post to my own FB page and to the page of a FB group. Both times, FB removed it, citing "trying to solicit Likes in a misleading way".
I have contested the ruling, but wanted to let you know.
I'm working early voting here in Arizona, so we're not done until 515 MT (unless someone comes in at 455 and has to study the propositions book - just say yes to abortion and no to everything else - then we get done later). So, after that "weave", will this be recorded? I'm a paid subscriber to Status Kuo but not Big Picture.
It's pretty simple. Since legacy media can no longer be trusted, neither can their polls.

💯 trump’s very manic. It’s a subset of his grandiose malignant narcissism.

I am not reading polls!
I am not reading pundits!
Neither are accurate nor a help.

And Heather Cox Richardson.
Thom Hartmann, too
Thanks, Jay. I hope I can get a nap that will enable me to join you at my usual bedtime. Keep up the great work.

And billionaires

Politico in particular needs to be yeeted into the sun!

Take with generous portion of NaCl.
Nate Silver works for Peter Thiel, founder of Polymarket. That’s all you need to know about him to discredit everything he says.

There will be a video created out of it, yes!
I don't believe polls. Maybe it's fake news paid by Putin. Yet another tactic to meddle in US elections.
Actually, the media reported about trump at McDonalds and his Arnold Palmer remarks.
It's about time!
As I’ve said before Jay….
O!H!-I!O!
