“This is an abuse of the process and clearly not what reconciliation was designed to do, but they’re going to go forward anyway.”

Well, it seems McConnell doesn't like getting a taste of his own medicine. I have zero sympathy.

I still will not rest easy until HR1/SR1 and HR4 pass. The Republicans are doing everything they possibly can to institute a permanent apartheid-type state in which only the minority that agree with them are considered legitimate participants in governance--i.e, allowed to vote and effectively participate in the government. In my mind, the Democratic majority must pass these laws as soon as possible, or risk a coup by voter suppression in 2022.

This is excellent. Anything that pisses Mitch off is good with me. I also love that all of these budget things go through Bernie's committee. The fact that this bill can be broken up into smaller pieces, is excellent, because the Republicans have been bitching about how this isn't infrastructure. Can't wait to hear their excuses against the hard infrastructure part of the bill. It would normally be amusing to watch them twist themselves into knots, but, so much is at stake, that I'm having trouble finding any humor in it. Doesn't everyone want better and safer roads, bridges, etc.?

What worries me is the enormous amount of power given to the two conservative Dems that could either hold up the process until it suits them or even worse, change parties and hand back the Senate to the Republicans who would then have reconciliation.
