I don’t usually spend much time answering utter idiocy, but when that idiocy spreads like a virus and starts showing up in the comment threads and chat rooms of the dangerously misinformed, it’s important to clarify the record—and in this case the law.
Journalists have been failing us for quite sometime. It was good that she asked, but, irresponsible not to follow up with something along the lines of, I believe you are full of crap, Representative Greene. SMH
Despite a recent increase in attempts to explain this very same thing to the information-resistant, I've observed many still being, well... information-resistant. Missing your posts on FB. Guessing you got "Zucced" on something there, but eagerly awaiting your return.
Has anyone considered that the reporter may not have been aware of what the HIPAA law means either? There seems to be the "talking head" approach to media reporting these days, at least in televised news where the sound byte is the only goal. I freely admit to not knowing the specifics of the law myself other than that it is another form to sign at the doctor's office. Rather I didn't know the limitations on the law beyond what is stated in the form. I must admit that the surprise of the day is that Rep Greene is actually aware of the law existing in the first place even if she doesn't know its contents.
Really wish the reporter had corrected her and insisted she answer she is a huge hypocrite I guarantee she has had the vaccine
Cue The Princess Bride meme "you keep using that word - I do not think it means what you think it means"

her non answer was the answer and I love that "pull a Dr. Fauci" is now a thing!
So tired of this argument. As an RN, I know this law.
