I would think in all trials like this, most of the witnesses are less than upstanding citizens. But the fact that the primary sleazebag is a former president of the United States is heart wrenching. I'm sure the jury can see through any attempt by the defense to keep trump "clean." Although is does seem like the defense is trying to say he was being extorted. Which in my mind is laughable.

I was speaking with a cousin of a friend who is visiting from Australia. He says no one in Australia can believe that people would vote for a guy like Trump. I had to say a lot of Americans cannot believe it either.

Fraud Trump is the ULTIMATE scumbag.

For years. Fraud Trump employed as his attorney another ultimate scumbag, Roy Cohn. What Fraud Trump learned from Cohn:

1) Deny anything and everything

2) Delay, delay, delay

3) Deflect

4) Never do anything in your own name, always hide behind fake names

5) Always use an intermediary to perform illegal acts for you

What Cohn’s last words were about Trump…”HE HAS ICE WATER RUNNING THROUGH HIS VEINS”! Spoken after Trump found out Roy Cohn was DIEING from AIDS and Dumped Him.

"And he certainly wouldn’t have paid Stormy Daniels $130,000 himself, using money from his home equity line of credit funneled through a shell company, with no expectation to be repaid by Trump."

That should be an interview question for jobs (in the legal profession or otherwise):

"Would you ever consider opening a line of home equity credit in order to pay off a woman who slept with a presidential candidate so that she wouldn't tell the story to the tabloids?"

This would have the side-effect and bonus of eliminating most Republicans from positions of responsibility in America.

It wouldn't eliminate any Republican candidates because they would just lie.

They would lie like three MAGAt Supreme Court candidates did when asked about Roe.

“Surround yourself with criminals, then if you get in trouble just point at them all and say ‘Are you gonna believe them? They’re a bunch of criminals!’” is an old technique of the Mafia kingpins Trump tries to emulate. (LOL if he went to a real meeting they’d send him out to get the sandwiches.)

Real mob bosses would have eliminated their Trump problem and disposed of the body into the East River.

Exactly. And THAT—not staying out of jail—is why Trump originally ran for president, is running now and will run every four years for the rest of his life.

Unless he wins. Then no more elections. . .

The projection ploy is overflowing into defense strategy, a pathological liar calling his fixer a liar and everybody that doesn't say nice things about him is a liar too (as his CFO is languishing in Rikers for lying for him)..."I'm not an extortionist, you're an extortionist", playground taunts elevated to courtroom tactics...but the bottom line is he lies, cheats and steals and every court case pending (or resolved) against tfg in NY, GA, FL, AZ, DC claim the same. May justice prevail. Vote 💙

One of the former "best people", Hope Hicks, is getting the stink-eye from tRump during her testimony today, which is hardly flattering to "the Boss".

At this point I would prefer he live to see a jail cell; not only that, he needs to be defeated at the ballot box. Only then do we have a chance of defeating the MAGA disease he has infected people with. If he were to die before November he would become a martyr for the right; I can hear it now they would say he was hounded to death.

I don't care if he would be a martyr. He'd still be dead.

Then you don't understand the power a martyr can have, especially to people who already have problems with facts to begin with.

Agreed. That last thing we want is for the Republicans to have time to field a viable alternative candidate. Trump may be a imminent threat to democracy as we know it; but the threat to reproductive rights and LGBTQ rights is coming from Republicans in general.

A case like this, where the prosecution has had ALL the receipts for years, and tRump's knowing involvement is all but undisputed, what else can a half-decent defense team do other than mercilessly attack prosecution witnesses, NOT for the credibility of their testimonies, but WHO they are. tRump's lawyers have full buckets of sleaze paint, they have the brushes, and they will be using them throughout the reminder of the trial.

And for the prosecutors, they need to keep jurors' focus on relevance of witness testimony, and not get caught up into the disreputable industry in which all concerned in this trial make their living. From my understanding of this jury's composition, it appears that the facts will matter, not the players' character, or lack thereof.

On third insurer after previous left state.

Trump could have avoided all the hassle and illegality by simply paying from his personal funds. These shenanigans were to keep everything at arms length and maintain plausible deniability. As if Cohen would pay over a hundred thousand dollars on behalf of a Trump NDA because they were buddy's

Trump went to the hassle of creating this convoluted chain of event, so he could make these arguments. Using a disreputable, disposable intermediary was even better for Trump

I hope it's made clear to the jury that the billionaire with lots of cash on hand, didn't use it and instead created this elaborate scheme
