But it has been observed that the Special Counsel is not funded in the DOJ budget but from a special Treasury Department fund that MGT cannot touch. Anyway such a bill to do so would have to pass in the Senate and Biden.
Thanks, Jay. You have answered the key criticisms and pretty much allayed my concerns about the special counsel. I am confident that indictments will follow and the government's cases will be solid. My greatest fear remains the question of seating a satisfactory impartial jury, as well as assuring that if such a jury is found, that it will remain free of tampering. I look forward to your thoughts on this in a future column. Meanwhile, all the best in London. You may be the world's greatest juggler. ;-)
I truly hope you are right, but I am pessimistic. A failure to indict Trump would be a lasting signal about our inability to hold anyone of power accountable.
I also considered that the magas could claim that Garland was acting out of anger for not being nominated judge, anything to make excuses for the traitor. Thank you as always and I hope and have little doubt that you will enjoy Thanksgiving.
