is there no way to get Tucker off the air. The guy is a menace to society and in my honest opinion he is a domestic terrorist.

Short of Murdoch firing him, I don’t see one. And even if he did fire him, he’d probably still be around somewhere making bad trouble.

Jay, we should be encouraging people to dump cable. All cable subscribers are paying Fox $2 to $3 a month regardless if they want to or not. These franchise fees are a large portion of Fox's revenue, far larger than advertising. A widespread cable boycott until Fox is dropped would possibly work.

While you're at it, get rid of Bannon, Alex Jones, and the rest of the AM radio bozos

He's doing exactly what his superiors are telling him to do. You don't think that he comes up with all of this garbage on his own, do you? The guy is a well paid shill.

Fox will not dump him until the money train runs out, wherever it's coming from. Then he'll just turn up somewhere else.

For 6 million dollars a year, he has and will keep saying whatever gets ratings. That's all the owners care about--they've sold their souls. "It's not about Blue or Red, it's about Green."

Expand full comment

That's all he makes? $6M is nothing to these awful people. Somehow this just makes it worse. Maybe they give him a crate of free bow ties as a perq to make up for that low-rent salary.

I do not completely agree with that sentiment. I firmly believe he does have a say based on how connected he is with the GOP.

I'm not saying he's not a scumbag of the highest order, just that he's doing what his bosses are telling him to do. He's a loyal (as far as that goes in Republican circles) and dutiful employee. He is just another instrument of policy.

And Fox News is the de facto propaganda arm of the GOP, so of course he's connected.

Weird, last time I went sightseeing I didn't need to break in to any of the places I saw and I certainly didn't steal anything and most definitely did not deficate outside of a designated restroom...

Reposting the best comment on Tucker: Well, was there anyone who didn't see this coming? Was Carlson even near a tv on January 6? Just sightseers? Sure...they were just tourists who coincidentally wanted to lynch the Vice President. Tourists who couldn't locate a washroom so they crapped on Nany Pelosi's desk. Regular folks who didn't want to wait in line for admission, so they broke windows and battered down doors. Peaceful citizens who pepper-sprayed Capitol police and beat them with flagpoles. And it was purely a coincidence that they were there at the time when the election of Joe Biden was being legally certified by Congress. Yep, that all makes perfect sense. Nothing to see here...move along.

I *know* what I saw on January 6, as it was broadcast live, and am insulted that Tucker wants us to believe the mob was really just “tourists” visiting the Capitol building!

Excellent and clear synopsis. The audacity of Carlson, after he and his network have been exposed as liars, is breathtaking. I always wonder how low humans have sunk if they still can believe this stuff. Thanks for yet another succinct piece of writing.

One of the best rebuttals to Tucker Swanson Carlson's theatrical display is the video of Rep. Andy Kim cleaning up the capitol after 1/6. https://apnews.com/article/andy-kim-cleans-capitol-siege-c5a303337cd63e4312ef7e1a17509371

Let us call a spade a spade. Tucker Swanson Carlson is a whore of the 7th Avenue variety complete with the lips signaling a great blow job. He will do anything for more money than his family already put on his silver spoon. Murdoch is his pimp. It is nothing more, and nothing less.

Six million a year is a lot of money to just sit and tell lies. He has to know he's a disgrace to the profession of "tv journalism and hosting" and being a talking head. He simply doesn't care.

Again, your moderate Republican follower, agreeing with you on the distorted and foolish Tucker Carlson handling of January 6 in connection with which, after due process, 80 or more were convicted or agreed to penalties. Unfortunately, these distorted pieces are prelude to yet another Trumpian attempt to push aside more responsible Republicans and become the Republican nominee in 2024 and almost certainly the loser in that election.

Most Republican over in the Senate agree that Tucker’s false narrative is wrong, and they stand with the Capitol Police and its report.

Actually, per DOJ's USAO-DC prosecuting office, there have been nearly 1000 J6 convictions including the 2/14/23 guilty plea of "DJ" Rodriguez as his Jury was set for selection.

DJ was the Attacker who zapped OFFICER MICHAEL FANONE multiple times with a Stun Gun. "DJ" will be setenced in May 2023;

I think DJ's due process requires a Victim's Statement in Court by OFFICER FANONE. 🗽 DJ is going to jail.

Michael, we all are apart of your 'support system '. 🙏

Totally agree, Bryan, and thanks for sharing the details of the brute who attacked Officer Fanone (a true American hero). As Jay so succinctly says: "Carlson knows this is red meat for Fox News viewers." Fox is feeding the beast Murdoch created to make him money. As he is quoted as saying in the Dominion Voting Systems filing: "It's not red or blue (that matters), it's green."

Thank you Sheila; In the last hour or so Murdoch, FNC & other Defendants just took a huge hit by a 300 page filing of admissible admissions filed by Dominion's lawyers against Fox.

In my 30 plus years as a Litigator & Trial Attorney, I have never seem the necessary "Actual Malice" proved up on paper in a Motion for Summary Judgment. The case is a watershed legal matter, a true "hornbook" case.

Professionally, I do not see how Murdock or FNC can risk (an existential risk) of taking Dominion's commercial defamation case to Trial. Murdoch must settle no matter the cost. Damed if they do eviscerated if they don't.

It's almost laughable. Almost. FOX has sucked the face off their role as a tabloid, delivering pure trash with a wink and a nod and a salacious show of a hairy leg.

They are simply providing their viewers shoddy cover from which to spout dizzying perversions and in return maintaining their viewership.

Their pact is as obvious as it is grotesque.

But, unfortunately, this unholy empire has contributed to a zeitgesit awash in deep-seated and ill-mannered acrimony with some devastating consequence, and therefore should be held accountable, every last vile voice.

If you find the right footage, any BLM protest was just a bunch of tourists. Does Carlson apply his logic to them?

So many Americans have succumbed to blanket “either/or” reasoning. Has that always been true but they just haven’t voiced it? Or is it the result of relentless propaganda that nothing can be a mix?

Expand full comment

I believe most footage of any BLM protest would show that the ratio of BLM "tourists" to those committing violence was directly inverse to what Tucker is trying to represent as Jan. 6. And the violence was not by BLM protesters but external provocateurs.

The woman who was president of my senior high school class (waaaay back in 1985 in Georgia) was at Jan 6, and has fallen straight down the Fox News/Tucker Carlson rabbit hole of lies. She is posting nonstop on Facebook today about all this BS - and there is no reasoning with these people.

And apparently the egotistical man-child who owns Twitter is amplifying ALL of this on his platform.

Do we really have hope that it will? SO much has already happened that seemingly has had NO consequence. The very ideas that DT is still a citizen and not in jail and that he is RUNNING AGAIN, indicates to me that the point of no return already went by. I hate to be that guy, but go by what I see.

Actually with the CRAP convention just happening the timing is not all that surprising to me. They are, unfortunately, still holding up tRump as their leader and with all the ongoing investigations they are desperate to show "nothing was out of line" on Jan 6. I truly believe there are some that are still on the tRump fence due to Jan 6 and they want those people back on their side. I mean will all the convictions they've had so far all of us non cult victims know it's a lie but those people can still be persuaded because if it's on Fox it must be true. Here we are 3 years later and I am still unable to comprehend the appeal tRump has and how so many still support him. I honestly didn't think we would be here at this point in time :( Also just to prove how disgusting F-ucker Carlson is he calls into question the death of a police officer? But but but tRump is an avid police supporter right?? Makes me sick.

Anyone who still believes the faux narrative coming from Fox is just being willfully ignorant they believe because it fits the narrative they want to believe even if they saw with their own eyes. How do people become this gullible?

They know nothing different. They've been conditioned to not believe in any other news source. They've been conditioned to not believe the main stream media. They've been conditioned to believe that everyone and everything is part of the "deep state"
