I wonder if the big grift PAC also was used to pay off GOP leadership like McCarthy to keep them in line with the Big Lie? The idea of Trumpsters getting ripped off by their hero does make me smile though.

All of this is wonderful and all of it will be moot if concerned, loyal Americans do not act to register unregistered voters, turn out the vote and turn out themselves en masse for the 2022 elections AND the 2024 elections. The lawlessness, cowardice and desperation of the fascist minority are unbounded, and they will do everything they can to seize and hold power.

I have been on both the text and email lists of *trump's fundraising campaign for three years, so I receive the same solicitation messages - anywhere from 6-12 every day - that are being referenced here. I can assure you that they treat the recipients as extremely gullible shills, and they continue to focus on the Big Lie and preventing "crazy leftists" from taking over. They often offer rewards - signed hats, special cards, lunch with *trump, etc. - for specific donations. Nearly every message is in the first person, almost always (supposedly) from *trump himself, or sometimes from Don Jr. or another recognizable insider. Incredibly, this barrage of messages - usually friendly and praising, often begging and offering ridiculous matching funds, occasionally bullying and obviously desperate - has reportedly brought in over 1/4 billion dollars, just since the 2020 election. Given the targeted audience, I sincerely doubt that many of them - if they would even admit to being scammed - would care that their hard-earned dollars were being used for personal or otherwise "alternative" purposes. "If *trump says he needs our money to fight the libs, then that's all I need to know. He's my guy." So is it grift if the griftee doesn't care if they've been grifted?

Some "Griftees" such as Foundations, Family Trusts, Corporations & Others with a fudicary duty to shareholders, beneficiaries & Boards can be subpoened, willing or not, to testify before a sitting Grand Jury. Addendum: Need more data who or what type of entities are the top 100 "donors"?

Expand full comment

True, but I strongly suspect that the vast majority of people who respond to the *trump solicitations that I receive are individual very small donors, and not corporate or other legal entities. To be unkind, though I believe accurate, any people who could be coaxed to send money based on these slimy entreaties would have to be both willing and foolish.

I don't know, maybe I'm getting a little panicky at this point. This whole thing seems to be dragging out interminably. That's not to say that the J6 Committee isn't doing their due diligence in making sure they have all their Ts crossed and Is dotted for an airtight case. However, this time ticking away has me worried.

We all know what's been happening with the economy, largely due to the events in Ukraine. We all know that the cost of everything from apples to zippers and everything in between is becoming costlier as a result of this war. The true cause of the inflation matters not to supporters of tRump. As far as they're concerned, the pain at the pump and elsewhere is due to DEMOCRATS, particularly Biden. It's all his fault, dontcha know.

With that said, it seems like tRump supporters are still going to support him just because they believe that Biden is to blame for the tanking economy. They may not exactly SUPPORT tRump's Big Lie, but they're likely gullible enough to believe that HE ALONE will be able to 'fix this mess' of the economy, and that is BAD NEWS.

This whole J6 affair needs to be sorted before tRump gets the chance to convince people who are struggling to keep food on the table, fuel in their cars, and a roof over their heads that HE ALONE can fix this economy. It's imperative that this J6 investigation is concluded and the next phase begins (criminal charges, etc) before tRump gets a chance to convince these poor gullible fools that he is their savior.

Also, and I'm not much for conspiracy theories, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Pootin chose the exact moment to invade Ukraine (though it was probably his plan all along) just after tRump lost and Biden took over--and a sufficient amount of time with him in office--to invade, tanking the global economy. Maybe, just MAYBE, Pootin is hoping to help get his 'Useful Idiot' back into the White House. Because we all know that people like Pootin and tRump don't do anything unless they stand to personally benefit from the fruits of their labor.

So far, I see less than $10 million of the $250 million raised accounted for. When do we find out where the other $240 million or so went?

But can’t Trump say he knew nothing about what his campaign staff was doing? Is that how the Mafia bosses literally got away with murder?

Federal courts often find liability for "Willful Blindness" particularly the U.S. District Court in DC. tfg's staff has little loyalty and less discipline as we saw yesterday.

I think the J6 committee has pointed in the direction of intent by TFG to defraud the public despite advice from his senior and legal advisors, and I don't believe they'd make that assertion unless they had adequate evidence. The legal hurdles the Justice dept. needs to jump have been lowered considerable by these hearings.

Expand full comment

David Bishop, but can't trump say that he didn't know anything about the solicitation of money for the Big Ripoff - that his "underlings" did it all on their own? No knowledge, no intent?

Expand full comment

No...IMO the J6 pretty much proved he was well informed, had knowledge of his actions as being against legal advice including creating another PAC to siphon off donations. Certainly having a Grand Jury issue indictments against TFG and people associated with the PAC will be one of the next steps by the Justice dept.

From what I have heard, some of the solicitation was supposedly from The Big Grifter himself, sent out directly under his name. I doubt he can hide from that.

Grift - what he does most often if not best. There are laws against it - they should be enforced in his case.
