Thanks for your succinct essay about the latest Trump self-generated crisis. The records alone can’t have been enough to require a search. Garland needed something bigger to justify the raid. Hope he’s right or the Fascist era will begin soon with MAGA aroused, armed and cloaked in moral outrage. It’s a better read than a NYT thriller. Hoping for a happy ending.
I suspect that the FBI also chose Monday since the TFG was in New York and the agents did not want to deal with irate ex-president. Image the outrage arresting him for assaulting an agent.
As always, very well written and chock full of good information. It is my understanding that the Trump team could release and make public the warrant and supporting documents. Obviously, the DOJ is bound by self-imposed niceties. If this is the case, ask yourself, why have they not done so? Why is the GOP demanding that the AG face the scrutiny?
