I can’t believe it’s been nearly a year since another crisis struck our small company, and I had to either get another job or ask folks here to keep me afloat through voluntary donations. The outpouring of support was both a shock and an incredible affirmation of my work, and I’m happy to say that taking a side gig is not something I worry about any longer. What’s more, I’ve been able to contract with a video editor so that my work can now reach younger voters on Instagram and TikTok. The future of The Status Kuo looks bright!
On this Thanksgiving Day, I have so much to be grateful for, even though these past 12 months have been so devastating, having lost both our beloved Ma and my baby doghter Hudson. Your kindnesses, encouragements, and loyalty as readers have truly helped see me through. This community is simply amazing.
Those of you who’ve read to the end of my book know that, in the not so distant future I hope, I’ll be faced with a much happier set of challenges to my work / life balance. But don’t worry! I have a solid plan that, with continued support from folks here, will allow me to keep writing here on a daily basis—though down the road I may take Sundays off and move my “Week Ahead” piece to Monday, especially now that I also write and edit for our sister publication, The Big Picture.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving and Black Friday sales, and to encourage anyone currently on the fence, I’m dropping a coupon below for 20 percent off the regular subscription price, good through this weekend. Now’s a great time to upgrade your account if you’ve been meaning to!
I understand household finances are tough for many folks, so please stay with a free subscription with full access to all my content if that’s the case for you.
Once again, thank you for keeping The Status Kuo going and thriving. Next year is going to be challenging for all on so many levels, especially as Trump trials begin and a nation-defining election looms. I will be here with you each day, striving to bring a bit of clarity to our crazy times.
