Thanks Jay — it's helpful to read your perspective on this. I agree about the desire to de-politicize the perception of the DOJ. Cheney is the best weapon the Committee has, because just as you said, she's no RINO. A staunch conservative like her delivering the messaging is a great foil against accusations of purely partisan attack by the committee.

This has me a bit hopeful!

Thanks for the insightful analysis. I can’t believe anything decisive will happen prior to the 2022 mid-term election. Hoping I’m wrong and to see thugs hauled off in cuffs though.

Thank you, Jay, for helping to keep us sane through all this! Like many others, I'm waiting impatiently for the day when Trump is charged, tried, convicted and put behind bars. But, what exactly, will all that look like? Who will arrest him? Where would he be held? What would a trial look like? If convicted, what would prison look like for him? And what about the Secret Service agents that are sworn to protect him? (If he decides to not go quietly, or flee the country?) The idea of a former President behind bars is just so extraordinary, I can't comprehend how it would all play out. With all your legal expertise, can you speak to any of this?
