Gov. Ron DeSantis’s cynical use of human targets to score political points is back in the headlines after the Tampa Bay Times on Tuesday aired newly released video from the body cams of arresting officers. In the footage, captured on August 17, 2022, DeSantis’s newly created and cynically titled “Office of Election Crimes and Integrity” had police fan out across certain Democratic strongholds and arrest 20 persons who had “illegally” voted after serving out their jail sentences and being released from custody.
Jesus, take the wheel, because the devil is determined to send us to hell! These people were deliberately targeted for pure visual impact. They used white police officers to arrest people (the majority were people of color and I bet all were poor), who knew their past, questioned the actions of those registering them to vote; were lied to; processed through the registration process; then used to "prove" DeSantis is tough on voter fraud!
As long as we keep voting for people who do not have the interest or care for the majority, we will continue to keep in office dung piles and call them our leaders.
DeSantis epitomizes what Hannah Arndt described as "the banality of evil." And like Eichmann, his cruelty will know no bounds if he isn't checked and booted as the disgrace he is from the American body politic.
I sure hope there are some lawyers from certain organizations that sue DeSantis in a class-action lawsuit on behalf of these obviously wronged individuals.
He truly is deplorable. And it's frightening that he is the possible GOP candidate for president should the orange one become ineligible (which he should be)
It seems to me that Truth, Honesty and working for the good of the American people and Country have been forgotten by the "Republican" party as it is today
Aside from the obvious racism and voter intimidation, Dictator DeSantis is setting up the Florida elections for his denials and refusal to accept the results when he loses. Right out of the Trump, aka Authoritarian, playbook. DeSantis is the opposite of the “freedom” he pretends to support. If you look at the methodology used in WWII Germany, you should be very scared of today’s Republican Party. How many of us have asked ourselves, “why and how, did the German People, allow Hitler to become so powerful”? Vote Blue, like our country and freedom depend on it, because they do.
People really need to vote to make their voices heard we are not going to go easily into the past and we will not tolerate a dictatorship in this country! I do not care who you are if you support this kind of 💩 you are a racist and your ignorance is gonna get you more than you bargained for deli realty targeting these people for a political show is just what Deathsantis does
