The Week in Tweets and Memes

Happy Saturday from rainy New York. On days like this, it’s nice to sit inside with a hot cup of coffee and scroll the lighter side of social media. So today’s list includes a lot of awwww moments (including multiple panda videos, for some reason) and to relish the fact that Tucker Carlson is finally off of Fox:

Speaking of Green M&Ms, this is a real story, and sadly I can’t say I’m surprised. Stephen Miller is claiming the company’s efforts to increase minority representation in its workplace is discrimination against whites.

Gov. Ron DeSantis had another bad week. It started off with him malfunctioning like an animatronic robot while he was in Japan. (Why was the governor of Florida in Japan?) Here’s the very weird clip:

DeSantis also got hit with a big lawsuit by Disney, the biggest employer in his state, after the company got tired of his efforts to punish it for supporting LGBTQ rights. People had thoughts.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders apparently is auditioning to be on SNL with this, um, ad? I don’t really know what this is. But it is unintentional hilarious. Watch it here:

The Montana GOP tried to silence trans activist Rep. Zooey Zephyr by banning her from the state Capitol for the remainder of the legislative session. But I have a sense they are only making her more powerful. This was the welcome she got back in Missoula, her home base. Watch the video here. My eyes were wet as I heard the roar from the crowd.
