This was about 3 weeks ago, and they still have not arrived. I hope they arrive soon, because I am less trusting of the US mail than I was last time around.
A lot of my friends are naturalized citizen voters and I wonder how they them voting can be considered cheating. It makes no sense. They can vote just like every other citizen, including Trump's wife.
I am a naturalized citizen - and yes, you are spot on, we are all concerned about this. Especially considering what we had to go through to get the right to vote.

It is dark humor of truly epic proportions. The only movies that comes close are "Dr. Strangelove" and "The Death of Stalin." In literature it might be "Catch-22" or "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy." Having the entire earth and all of its inhabitants destroyed by Vogons in order to make way for a hyperspace bypass seems about right.
The key word is DARK humor, and it is never funny to those living it.

In The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy Arthur Dent watches his entire planet destroyed by monstrous alien idiots. We ALL get to watch our world destroyed in Dr. Strangelove because of one military wingnut's obsession with fluoridation. In The Death of Stalin, Stalin is left alone in his office to die of a stroke because everyone who could help him is afraid to be blamed for his death.
That this once great nation would elect a known crook, pedophile and rapist, fraudster, conman, failed businessman, and sociopath as its PRESIDENT on the basis of a fake TV show, and then LET him destroy the country rather than just dragging him out of the oval office and locking him up as soon as he broke even one law will be both jaw-droppingly incomprehensible and hilarious to some future student of history.
If you were going to write a play or a satire about a fake history that resembled ours, the ending would be something like Trump's entire administration dying of salmonella at Mar-a-lago because of a bad batch of ketchup, or because Pete Hegseth set fire to the White House during a state dinner or cabinet meeting while trying to execute a drunken party trick.
A few more US senators voting in the manner of "very concerned" Susan Collins and scramble-brained John Fetterman gives real import to the fear of the "Save Act" becoming law...oy vey!
I agree. I know that Fetterman is an independent, not a Democrat, but he has been supporting fascism for a while so I discount him. Collins is not fascism lite, but fascism lying.

Their claim is that they're seeking to identify any naturalized citizen who registered to vote before formally becoming an American citizen. I've also read "those who voted" before naturalization was completed. Pray tell me what fool who was in process of becoming a citizen would vote before becoming a citizen. Sadly, I can imagine one or two registering, unthinkingly, anticipating citizenship.
Is there a law against registering to vote, or just against voting, if not a citizen? I guess perjury because you swore you ARE a citizen. That recent big survey in the red states looking for non-citizen voters came up with a handful. Pretty soon they will just cancel the swearing in of any new citizen for "national security" reasons--and then deport them because they lost their green card status when approved for citizenship.

Your initial point is correct because of the requirement to attest to citizenship when registering.
They're already cancelling swearing in ceremonies for people from select countries, some literally at the door.
