I understand things are moving at a seemingly slow pace because there needs to be zero doubt in trying to prosecute a former President but seriously we need to somehow shut him down and soon. The call for massive protests, the continued insistence that the election was rigged, the spewing of vile comments- the whole pumping up of his base is bad for this country. Personally I think it's probably already too late for some, if you are still listening to him at this point I think you are beyond help. I'm very afraid of what will happen when he is prosecuted :( And I just don't understand how the vast majority of the Republican party is willing to turn a blind eye to what is going on, all for the support of a mob of cult followers. They have the power to make him irrelevant, they choose not to.

I fear what HALF the citizens of this country may do. I fear them, their mindsets, their actions. I fear what may happen to anybody who is not an open, obvious tRump supporter, those who will be viewed as, 'with us or against us, there is no in between.' Either we all wear MAGA hats or we run for the friggin' hills.

It seems obvious, now more than ever, that democracy in this country is in danger of extinction.

I fear them too. This is terrorism at its best. I don't monitor right-wing blogs. Maybe I should. Know thy enemy and stuff...it kills me to think of fellow Americans as the enemy. A couple of weeks ago, I was at the dog park, and a guy I know from there was pontificating about all the things he hates about the left. The things coming out of his mouth were so scary I had to leave. Where is he getting this stuff? He believes that black lives matter people are rioting in the streets of major cities, killing people, destroying property. He went on and on about the violence the left is perpetrating. I couldn't bring myself to ask him what he thought about J6. It would have all been a load of crap. He indicated that he was afraid of me because I associate with the violent ones. As I walked away, I thought, which of us is more likely to be carrying a concealed weapon? Then I wondered if I would be shot in the back as I left.

Yes indeed, let's unpack. In 2016, someone with NPD was elected President. Given the circumstances, everything else follows from that. Trump is fundamentally not responsible for his words or actions. Congress is responsible for ensuring that psychopaths and narcissists are ineligible for public office. Congress is to social predators what zookeepers are to animal predators. The Electoral College was intended as a bulwark against those predisposed to support these anomalies but this base of support has now infested half of Congress and tried to overturn the 2020 election by subverting the same Electoral College that was intended to marginalize it from the mainstream voting public. So it's not working anymore. We don't have a lot of time to act on this.

I have a general thought and question: I find it hard to believe that 45 is actually studying history to see how the Nazi's rose to power. So, is it people around him feeding him these fascist strategies, or is this just what inherently evil, power-hungry aholes DO? I'm genuinely curious, but also know it really doesn't matter.
