The participation trophy for DeSantis was truly inspired. It was the best laugh of all and right at the top, too! I'll be laughing at that one all day. And having seen a few true crime stories on TV, the last post was also hilarious. 'I'm glad my husband is missing.' She must have spent hours if not days in the interrogation room. I don't even have to wonder where she is now. So funny.
I have to say, Jay, I do look forward to getting Xeets and Giggles on Saturdays but getting them on Sunday reminds me of the days when I looked forward to the Sunday newspaper because the comics were the best. And in color, too!

I'm not sad to see Vivek gone, he's horrible, but it is hilarious that Iowans voted against him for the wrong reason and his words and ideas such as they were had nothing to do with it at all.
It definitely said more about the voters than about the candidate. For GOP voters, skin color is everything. I think it's interesting that as racist as Trump is, he sure works hard at darkening his own skin. It seems to be darker every time I see a new picture of him. So weird.
That reminds me of Obama’s White House Correspondents Dinner joke about John Boehner (then Speaker of the House, known for his remarkable “tan”)--“I just found out our Speaker is a person of color--it just happens to be a color not found in nature”

I suspect Pres Biden will decide NOT to run (health I would suggest as an excuse, but really because the orange fascist is gone) & Kamala will step up with a male VP ... Then you will have 2 female mixed race contenders!!! Fun gaming THAT one out ...

Gov't shutdowns will be threatened if funding isn't provided for Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and tuition-free college. It will be anarchy.

I mostly love the Squad, but I would never want them to block government funding to achieve progressive goals I favor, nor do I believe that they ever would. If progressives want to see stuff enacted, they need to grow their numbers in the House the old fashioned way (which they are starting to do).
The progressive block in the House has been really big on compromising. They know what they want but they also know what they can achieve and have been really smart about not holding government hostage. They have compromised much more than the so called moderate Democrats.
I have high hopes for the defamation lawsuit - considering the judge and the jury, I would love to see a TRULY astronomical compensation number. P. S. The cat-shaped cat entrance is beyond adorable.
