Snakes are also an ancient symbol of the goddess, which is why the snake in the garden of Eden is so scary. She does not tempt Eve with riches or comfort. She offers knowledge. Naturally the weenie patriarchs have done their best to obscure her.
Snakes and trees often go together as female symbols. Hera is the goddess most often associated with the snake and then there is the well-known “Little goddess of the snakes.”
A recent critic of Bishop Budde accused her of being the snake in the garden. Indeed. Strong women are always a threat to these kind of men, as are you Jay Kuo.
Minister and activist John Pavlovitz puts it this way - I am not a member of the LGBTQ community, but I am an ally. I am stating this every where I can. I too am an ally - in any way I can. Expressing support in Letters to the Editor, letting my L+ friends know I care and have their back, shutting down people I hear making jokes or inappropriate references. We can’t be silent.
Happy New Year to our Chinese friends! And since the snake is revered, maybe a long trip to China is just what the doctor ordered for Trump. He loves to be revered. They can use their amazing construction industry to turn him into one of the Spratly Islands.
Happy New Year to you and all of your family, Jay! It may interest you to know that the Sherpa people in Nepal celebrate New Year (Losar) on the same date as the Chinese. This is because the Sherpas originally came from the easternmost part of Tibet, the Kham region, on the border of China. They were forced out of Tibet hundreds of years ago by the Mongol invasions. Although they migrated all the way to the Himalaya mountains in Nepal, many have a very strong physical resemblance to Chinese people. Other Tibetan people celebrate Losar one month after Chinese New Year. BTW, Sherpa means "east" (sher) "pa" (people).
Thank you, Jay, for the adorable baby picture. Happy New Year. I made a wee contribution from my Social Security payment, hoping that it continues to arrive.
I should not have read The Status Kuo right now because seeing the scrumptious looking food is going to send me to the kitchen after I finish my comment.
Seriously Jay, thank you for your daily contributions to keep us motivated, encouraged and active towards maintaining our democracy.

Ah, yes, a little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing. And Eve gets punished for being in pursuit of knowledge. Intelligent women are dangerous!
And Adam blames her for his lack of will in not eating the apple.
Thank you for this! I’m a wood snake! (1965) This is inspiring and empowering.
Already a HRC monthly contributor! Riley is adorable btw
