I saw something that struck me on this. People who are “good” weird don’t mind being called weird. They know they are outside the mainstream. People who are “bad” weird like Vance and Don Jr. hate being called weird because they see themselves as the center of society.

I don't know if I fit the "weird" description, but I am a woman with degrees in two different STEM fields so I often describe myself as a "recovering engineer" or a "data nerd". And I do try NOT to make people's eyes glaze over with too-technical explanations. Now, I'm not saying I'm always successful, ... but I do try!! ;-)
I just had this conversation yesterday. I'm proudly weird, and commented to a friend that I wasn't sure about the "weird" label. She immediately said I was "good weird," and they were "bad weird," which I guess is some solace. I think the reason "weird" is getting under their skin is that they are bullies, who picked on the weird kids.

Makes sense. Also, the “good weird” types are bright enough to understand the difference between their uniqueness and the creepy weird of the GQP.
Good point!
