I don’t think Thomas realized that Articles of Impeachment were going to filed and in addition that a request from Dems that Garland appoint Special Counsel to investigate Thomas if he violated tax and ethics laws for receiving expensive gifts. Also Thomas and Alito were involved in Jan6 insurrection as was Ginny, Clarence’s wife. And then Thomas and Alito refused to excuse themselves when Jan6 trials came before them. And… the Federalist Society was very involved in placing three (four ?) judges on the Supreme Court (although tRump elected them for confirmation). Those judges were placed so that tRump (Republicans) would have the majority in the Supreme Court.
